"In 1511, Chechersk received the right to self-government - Magdeburg Law. And then, for the Rada, a wooden town hall was built, which was most likely destroyed during the division of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the entry of Chechersk into the Russian Empire.
When the town came into the possession of Zakhar Grigorievich Chernyshev. At his insistence, construction began on a new stone town hall. In 1972, half of the building was destroyed by fire. And restoration and restoration work took place for more than 30 years.
