What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Dachstein Shark a unique and fun photo opportunity with stunning mountain views, though the hike can be challenging with steep sections, especially in winter. The surrounding attractions like the 5 Fingers and ice caves add significant value to a visit.
"Very good hike approx 1,5h with some tempo back and forth ofc. bigger elevation at the start but the rest is really friendly. Pretty enviroment and mountains around. Approx in the middle you can check ice cave as well. There is a bit colder and at the bottom you can find big piece of ice just laying and chilling"

"Please when in Dachstein gletcher make sure to take the walk towards the shark. It's about 45mins, there is a big elevation drop at the beginning around the funicular station (you will need to climb if you take the same route back from the shark), but the environment is amazing. Different than the way towards the 5fingers. Less popular."
Zsóka Kicsiny
"40mins hike, with up and down the mountain road to reach the Dachstein Shark. Not an easy hike as it has steep ascend and descend, Snow already covering up most of the pathway. Weather was bad and visibility not more than 10m. Do check out the weather before making the trip and wear warm clothing and right footwear."
