"CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC
Update review... January 2024
After someone liked my review, I thought I best updated my review to help Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and the people who enjoy this area.
Beautiful place, Unfortunately, it is closed to the public from 2023 due to safety reasons!
After contacting Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve office, it will be indefinitely close until the safety issues can be resolved.
I will update my review as soon as I hear or see that Gibraltar Falls have been reopened!
Just like most people who have enjoyed this place for hiking or just a BBQ lunch with the family, we hope the government can get on top of these safety issues for all to enjoy again.
If you are still looking for hiking grounds or just a quick BBQ, this can be found only a few kms down Corin Road,
There's a great little spot across the from Corin forest and for hiking, smokers gap and Corin Dam area has a couple great trails with spectacular views, so all is not list if you drive out too this area of Tidbinbilla."

"Really nice place to visit, but do the right thing and stay behind the rails, they are there for a reason.
Sadly two people in one week lost their lives here on separate occasions when they slipped and fell from the falls."

Understanding the Closures

Safety and Responsible Visiting
Adhering to safety barriers and signage is paramount. These are not suggestions but critical safety measures implemented due to the inherent dangers of the environment. Tragically, there have been incidents where individuals have fallen from the falls, highlighting the risks of venturing too close to the edge or climbing on wet rocks.
For families, extra vigilance is needed with children. While the walk is short, the proximity to the waterfall and uneven terrain demand constant supervision. The goal is to enjoy the natural beauty responsibly, ensuring everyone returns home safely.
