"A church with extremely beautiful stained glass that illustrates the creation and revelation story that's seems materialistically accurate. Highly recommend going there! If you are interested in reflection whilst looking at the stained glass, I highly recommend buying the calendar - it has reflections for each window (from the book of Job)"

"What a lovely church and glorious stained glass windows, depicting creation from a Biblical, scientific, and Australian/ aboriginal perspective in a manner that focuses on nature and wonder. Approaching on a quiet, sunny Monday afternoon, I could tell from the blowing curtain at the entrance and open doors on both sides, that the breezes and views would be wonderful. This is a church so please be respectful and remove your hat and allow church members to use their church. It is very generous of the cathedral to open their house to the public and be so welcoming and available. Some ugly tourists came in while I was there and proceeded to walk up on to the pulpit to take pictures and stood in front of people obviously praying, ugh. I was lucky to arrive with some local school children and the start of the 30+ minute non-preachy and informative audio presentation, definitely with doing if you can arrange the timing. I am not a Catholic but was very impressed by the message and the glory of our world and Creation presented here - definitely one of top things to see in Cairns IMO."

"Wonderful Easter Saturday night vigil at St. Monica's Cathedral, Cairns, North Australia. After the Battle of Coral Sea destroyed Australia's North Coast, St Monica's was rebuilt with 56 glorious ceiling to floor stained glass windows of the Creation.
Last is the "Peace Window' of the wreckage which covered the Pacific after the war - that it never happen again."
