What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Superior Circuit for its breathtaking panoramic views and the unique experience of walking above the powerful cascades. The accessibility and well-maintained trails are also frequently highlighted as positives, making it a must-do for most visitors to Iguazú National Park.
"Circuito superior is the highest point of the Iaguazou falls on the argentinian side. Our tour guide explained the schedule/ paths we would walk for the day. We took the train to reach this level although individual visitors can reach there by walking through seperate trails. Train was very comfortable and fun way to reach circuito superior. The landscapes from the top are fascianating, escpecially at the end of the trail where the cataratas are."

"Superior Circuit - The trail is circular and takes you along the edge of the canyon on a metal structure above the river. There are several fantastic viewpoints from which you can enjoy an impressive view. Arriving at the end, you will have an impressive panoramic view of both the Argentine and Brazilian national parks. The trail is not demanding, it is slightly shorter than 2 km."

"There were options for either the lower circuit or this one with the time we had available and I think this was the right choice in that it avoided stairs and gave a better view of more of the many many falls. The walk went around 1.5km around the upper edge of the Argentinian side of the falls, getting as far as the Iguazu river (Garganta being off in the distance). We crossed above Salto Bossetti, Salto Adan Y Eva, Salto Gpeque Bernabe Mendez and turned back around Salto Mbiqua, but could see further major falls along the distance (probably saw well over 100 of the 200+ falls in the area). This whole area is a not to be missed lifetime experience."

Understanding the Circuits: Superior vs. Lower
The Lower Circuit, in contrast, takes you below and around the base of the falls, providing a more intimate and immersive experience with the spray and roar of the water. It involves more stairs and varied terrain, offering a different perspective that emphasizes the sheer scale and power of the waterfalls. Many visitors opt to do both circuits to get a comprehensive appreciation of Iguazú's grandeur.
When deciding between them, consider your physical fitness and what kind of experience you're seeking. The Superior Circuit is excellent for wide vistas and a less strenuous walk, while the Lower Circuit offers a more visceral, up-close encounter with the falls.
Navigating Iguazú National Park: Transport and Logistics
For those who prefer to explore on foot, numerous walking trails are integrated throughout the park. These trails are well-maintained and clearly marked, guiding visitors through the dense vegetation and offering opportunities to spot local wildlife. The Superior Circuit, for instance, can be reached by walking from certain points, allowing for a more direct connection with nature. It's important to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, as the subtropical climate can be warm and humid.
When planning your visit, it's wise to check the park's official website for the latest information on train schedules and trail conditions. Purchasing park entrance tickets online in advance is also highly recommended to avoid queues, especially during peak seasons.
