Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently describe Iguazú National Park as an awe-inspiring, natural wonder, with many highlighting the sheer power and beauty of the falls. The experience of getting drenched by the mist is a memorable highlight for many, alongside the diverse perspectives offered by both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. While some find the infrastructure on the Brazilian side less developed, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it a must-visit destination.

"We visited both sides of Iguazu Falls, Brazil and Argentina and loved both.

On the Brazil side we enjoyed the walks and panoramic views of all the waterfalls. In the afternoon we joined a speedboat tour, prayed for front row seats and were blessed to get what we wished for. We cruised the river at high speeds, hitting rapids but the true highlight was going under three of the waterfalls and getting completely drenched. The return ride caused more drenching as the boat pilot intentionally steered us into rapids.

Prepare to get drenched. Lockers are available at low cost for personal belongings. Bring your phone at your own risk, just clutch it tight.."

"One of the most natural exhilarating sights. Everything you read is true. Argentina Iguazu Falls is epic. Lots of walking so dress accordingly to keep cool. Take some snacks and a water. Wear sunscreen and hat. You may need bug spray. Make sure your phone and camera are fully charged for all the pictures you will take. Super easy to navigate the trails. You will see tons of wildlife and we took the jungle boat cruise instead of the trail or train. Don't miss this!"

Kimberly Quesenberry

"This place is unreal!!! I highly recommend visiting both sides. The Brazilian side is smaller and will give you panoramic views. You have the ascend and a descend at times, but there's an elevator on the way up. The Argentinian side is much longer, flat, with both panoramic and closer views of the waterfalls. Be prepared to get wet, especially on the Argentinian part, where you will see and feel the power of the water. There are food and toilet facilities around, too."

Navigating the Argentinian vs. Brazilian Sides

Iguazú National Park is a transboundary marvel, split between Argentina and Brazil, each offering a distinct yet equally awe-inspiring experience. The Argentinian side is renowned for its extensive network of walkways and trails that bring you incredibly close to the falls. You can explore the Upper Circuit for panoramic views from above, the Lower Circuit for a more intimate perspective at the base, and the thrilling boardwalk leading directly to the Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo), where the sheer volume and power of the water are overwhelming. This side requires more walking and offers a deeply immersive encounter with the falls. Reddit

The Brazilian side, while smaller in terms of trail length, provides unparalleled panoramic vistas of the entire Iguazú Falls system. A single, well-constructed walkway allows visitors to take in the grandeur of the falls from a distance, offering postcard-perfect views. It's often described as the 'wow' moment where you can truly grasp the scale of this natural wonder. An elevator is available to ascend to some viewpoints, making it more accessible for some visitors. Reddit

Many travelers recommend visiting both sides to get a complete appreciation of Iguazú. The logistical considerations include border crossings, which are generally straightforward but require proper documentation. Planning for at least a full day on each side is advisable to fully absorb the magnificence of these iconic waterfalls. Reddit

The Thrill of the Iguazú Boat Tours

For an unforgettable, adrenaline-fueled experience, the jungle boat tours at Iguazú Falls are a must-do for many visitors. These excursions take you on a thrilling ride up the Iguazú River, culminating in a heart-pounding journey directly beneath some of the most powerful cascades. Prepare to get absolutely soaked – it's an exhilarating baptism by waterfall! Reddit

Operators on both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides offer similar tours. You'll typically board a speedboat that navigates the rapids before heading towards the base of the falls. The sheer force of the water crashing down creates a spectacular, albeit drenching, spectacle. Lockers are usually available at the tour departure points to store your belongings, but it's wise to keep your phone secure and waterproofed if you plan to capture the action. Reddit

Reviews consistently highlight the boat tour as a major highlight, with many describing it as a truly exhilarating and memorable part of their visit. It's an experience that allows you to feel the raw power of Iguazú Falls in a way that simply walking the trails cannot replicate. Booking in advance is often recommended, especially during peak travel seasons. Reddit

The presence of abundant wildlife adds another layer of magic to the already spectacular Iguazú experience. Reddit
