"Ishmi Castle, built between 1572 and 1574, served as a strategic Ottoman defense stronghold to control roads and prevent insurgent activities. Located on a hill near the village of Ishëm, it is approximately 15 km west of Krujë and 26 km north of Durrës. The castle features architectural influences from various empires, including Roman, Byzantine, and Illyrian. Recently restored, it was inaugurated in May 2024, enhancing its historical significance as a cultural site in Albania.
