What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Morning Glory Signature is praised for its elevated Vietnamese cuisine, cozy ambiance, and stunning river views, making it a standout dining destination in Hoi An. While many rave about the flavorful dishes and attentive service, some diners note that dishes can lean salty and portions can be on the smaller side for the price. Despite these minor points, it's widely considered a must-visit for an authentic yet sophisticated taste of local flavors.
"Dined here as a walk-in and was able to get a table out back. I ordered the seafood spring rolls as an entree and the sea bass as my main. Both were really delicious and the portion sizes were much bigger than I was expecting - I struggled to eat it all. Was pleased with my overall dining experience here."

"A Flavorful Experience at Morning Glory Signature. Morning Glory Signature is a truly impressive restaurant in the heart of Hoi An. Housed in a large, beautifully styled building, it offers a unique ambiance with its cozy, old-market-inspired interiors. The space is vast, with different rooms and sections, yet it manages to feel warm and inviting despite how busy it can get.
The service is excellent — well-organized and attentive, even at peak hours. As for the food, everything we tried was flavorful and well-executed. A special highlight was the sizzling beef with black pepper — bold, aromatic, and deliciously peppery. Some of the other dishes also leaned towards strong, punchy flavors, which we personally enjoyed.
Overall, a great dining experience with rich tastes and a vibrant setting. Definitely worth a visit when in Hoi An."

"The food is generally packed with bold flavors, though many dishes leaned heavily on the salty side. If you enjoy strong, savoury tastes, you'll likely appreciate their offerings more. Highlights include the fried turmeric noodles and baby calamari — both well-executed and flavorful. However, the grilled scallops were a miss for us; they were overwhelmingly salty, masking the natural taste of the scallop.
Desserts offered a pleasant surprise with a wide selection that wasn't overly sweet — a nice balance to the savory dishes. Their signature cocktails are also worth trying: reasonably priced, well-mixed, and notably not watered down. You can really taste the alcohol distinctly. Lastly, great river view if you sit at higher floors. Definitely a good bonus!"

Morning Glory Original Restaurant - Hoi An
My first restaurant, Little Mermaid, was very much a continuation of my parents’ restaurant - predominantly local food for local people. When foreign tourists started arriving in the mid 90s, Little Mermaid quickly outgrew its modest location so I sought a new building outside the old town where I could accommodate larger groups, thus White Lantern was born . My next venture, Cargo Club, opened with a varied menu western dishes for those missing a taste of home while they were away enjoy them too so I opened Morning Glory to give guests a broad view of the Vietnamese culinary landscape - what we eat, how we eat, and when we eat.

I am not recommending that you try the most commonly eaten vegetable in Vietnam but rather, I am recommending the Morning Glory Restaurant, a restaurant that all visitors to Hoi An should try. The menu is extensive, prices are slightly higher than what you could expect in Hoi An but the food is value for money.
Good Morning Vietnam, Hoi An, Italian Restaurant
The lasagne is well sized and tasty, although possibly not as tasty as the one in Morning Glory Signature in my view. Having said that, it is certainly bigger and the garlic bread here is much better, and as I enjoy eating lasagne with garlic bread, the overall experience is tied. The ravioli is good also, although I have to say I prefer the pumpkin ravioli to the meat one, and as a man who likes his meat, this is no easy thing to say.

Then, I would hesitantly recommend Morning Glory, which is a relatively famous restaurant right in the heart of the Ancient Town. The pork in the cao lau was very good and there were not one but two types of crispy crackers.
