Nestled in the charming heart of Hoi An’s old streets, Good Morning Vietnam is a beloved destination for those who appreciate authentic Italian warmth and flavor. Established in 1993, it stands as one of the top Italian restaurants in Hoi An, proudly founded and operated by Italians who bring a true taste of Italy to Vietnam. The restaurant offers a cozy, inviting space, with its signature yellow walls, rustic wooden furniture, and nostalgic black-and-white photographs, creating the atmosphere of dining in a small, traditional trattoria somewhere in the Italian countryside.

If you are looking for Italian food in Hoi An Old Town, then you can certainly do a lot worse than Good Morning Vietnam. There aren’t too many dedicated Italian restaurants in the Old Town at the time of writing, and while there are certainly the odd one or two, and a few others that offer Italian food on their menus, Good Morning Vietnam is the best bang for your buck place that you will find. This has been my go-to Italian restaurant for many years as the quality is high and the prices very reasonable.

They also do pizzas but they are not quite up to Good Morning Vietnam standards (see below). They do great Hoi An Chicken Rice and barbecued chicken with a rice noodle salad.. I have also tried the traditional Beef Pho or Soup – the flavors of the soup were lovely but the beef was very chewy so I didn’t eat much of that and have decided that despite the fact that the Pho is very good for you it is not for me. I did indulge in their ginger tea which was delicious and packed with lots of fresh ginger.

Forget about the so-called Vietnamese pizzas and signs proclaiming “Best Pizzas Hoi An” that you see everywhere, and head to a real Italian restaurant offering authentic Italian cuisine. Located in an old two-story house 100 meters from the old town of Hoi An, the restaurant is managed by Luca, who oversees both the pizzeria and the kitchen. It offers a wide range of Italian dishes from pizza to spaghetti Bolognese and carbonara, not forgetting the tiramisu for dessert, among others.

Our favourite pizza in town (although Luna D’Autunno at An Bang Beach is also good). It’s nothing special, but if you’ve been in Asia for a while, it satisfies the pizza craving. It has a convenient location in the ancient city, and you get a complimentary appetiser and homemade limoncello.

Goodmorning Vietnam is an Italian restaurant in Hoi An that offers gluten free pasta. They will boil it separately in fresh water with a clean colander but you have to ask. Yes, it’s somewhat random to eat Italian food in Vietnam, but it was quite tasty.
