Pho Hoa Pasteur is celebrated for its authentic, flavorful pho broth and generous portions, making it a favorite among locals and travelers alike. While some find the prices slightly above average and the ambiance basic, the rich, well-simmered soup and the lively atmosphere consistently draw praise. It's a long-standing establishment praised for its culinary tradition.
"Had this recommended by ChatGPT all the bottom tables were taken, but they have an upstairs section and a section off of that upstairs section which had some seats I got the pho tai chin.
That was delicious. Rich broth and lots of sides to add. I also got the iced tea. That was excellent.
Service was very fast when you’re done they give you a receipt so you can take to pay at the front counter.
Pro tip: bring your own napkins. They charge you 2000 If you use that wet wipe and there’s no napkins on the table."

"It was my first time trying an authentic pho and it was so good! The broth is very tasty and there are a lot of greens that you can add. Just be careful on adding lime can it can really alter the taste. We tried the fresh spring roll. It was so-so. If you are not fond of vegetable, skip it cause the greens are overpowering. The fresh juices are very tasty and refreshing. Lastly, the dough sticks are not free but they'll put it in your table even if you didn't order it. But if you'll not eat it, it will not be charged to you. Will definitely go back before flying back home."

"I've eaten a lot of phở over my nearly 60 years—across Vietnam and abroad. So when we stopped at Phở Hòa Pasteur on the way to the airport, I was expecting something decent, maybe average.
What I got blew my mind.
I ordered the Phở Tái, and the taste was simply heavenly. Rich, balanced broth, tender beef, and fresh herbs—everything just came together perfectly. Even the iced tea was fantastic.
This was a completely unexpected culinary highlight, and without a doubt, the first place I’m coming back to eat when I return to Saigon. Absolutely recommended."

HCMC Foodie Trip: The One with Pho Joie de Vivre
Most of the guidebooks recommended Pho Hoa on Pasteur Street and Pho Le near Chinatown and I can report back that both were excellent. Of all places, Pho Hoa was probably one of the most well known - many people swore by they served the best bowl of Pho Bo in the whole world - and it's no surprise that many pho shop owners overseas opt to name their place "Pho Hoa" or "Pho Pasteur", borrowing the fame from this original joint. The Pho Bo Dac Biet at Pho Hoa came with a sumptuous mix of ingredients - the beef loin slices, tendon, tripes, brisket, minced meat balls and all, and the soup base was clear yet rich and super-delicious.
