Den Long is a very pretty Vietnamese restaurant which, shockingly, actually has a gluten free menu!!. Dan and I ate here for our first dinner in Ho Chi Minh City (we’d strategically booked our accommodation walking distance from it!). When I told them I had celiac disease, they knew what that meant and brought me a gluten free menu.

As a great place especially for families to spend time with local delicious food, Den Long also attracts diners by its lantern décor, good service and friendly staffs who are all able to speak English. You cannot miss fresh spring rolls with tofu and marinated mushrooms, corn cake or coconut rice.

Den Long means “lantern,” and its cozy, glowing space brings comfort and warmth to traditional Vietnamese dining. The menu features comforting home-cooked dishes like canh chua, caramel pork, and stir-fried morning glory. Great for a slow, nostalgic dinner.

Den Long offers a menu full of tasty Vietnamese food and a restaurant influenced by the design of Hoi An. I have eaten Vietnamese food for more than 20 years, which is why it is difficult to impress me. However, this was a mind-blowing experience.

One of those restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City that is very accessible for tourists. On the other hand, we did see quite a few locals dining here as well. The interior is so colorful it hurt my eyes, but the food is outstanding.
