Sailors who live aboard boats anchored offshore and an eclectic coterie of residents and visitors gather for lunch and dinner at this funky spot in the middle of a boatyard and shopping complex. It's a great place for burgers (they're served with potato chips, not fries—there's no deep fryer), fish sandwiches, and whatever sports are on the satellite TV.

Don't know if you've already left, but to answer your question regarding Coral Bay, breakfasts are great at the Donkey Diner, across from Skinny Legs'. A new place, Aqua Bistro may also serve breakfast. A terrific place for dinner (West and East Indian food) is Sweet Plaintains owned by former New Yorkers, Prince and his wife.

We spent some time off resort and visited Asolare Restaurant, which had insane views and even better food, Skinny Legs burger joint, Woody’s Seafood Saloon (which was owned by a recent college grad who came to visit St. John and just up and bought a bar and never left….I can’t even tell you how jealous we were of that guy), and Island Blues Seaside Bar. We enjoyed Cinnamon Bay beach and Maho Bay beach. We loved just walking around Mongoose Junction in Cruz Bay, an area full of dining, galleries, shopping and more.

An elementary school sits on one side next to a fire department and the very popular Skinny Legs restaurant and bar, where you can get the best burgers on the island. A few shops surround Skinny Legs; most appear to be local artists not overly concerned with making many sales. On the other side of the bay, the road follows the water’s edge going by a few restaurants including Island Blues, Sticky Fingers barbecue, Aqua Bistro, Sweet Plantains and Crabby’s Water Sports.

I don't know if it was just us as first-timers or the day or what, but just weren't impressed with Skinny Legs. We went on a tour to the Annaberg Plantation and lunch at the Shipwreck another day and thought much more of the Shipwreck.

Every year Ken gives thanks by offering Pigs, Potatoes and Beer!. This Thanksgiving Day was no different as the denizens of Coral Bay, and visiting snowbirds, celebrated their traditional way Thankspigging.

Skinny Legs is proudly blender-free, but that didn't stop us from ordering up a Painkiller, a rum punch, and then the deadly Melee -- a blend of all six Cruzan rum flavors and a thimble full of fruit juice.

If we’d had a car we’d have stopped in Coral Bay on the way back, and gone to Skinny Legs – a fun dive bar that makes a good burger. But because we were using the bus we headed straight back to Cruz Bay.
