Reviews Summary

Ceviche's offers a unique Panamanian dining experience with standout ceviche and perfectly cooked seafood and meats. While many praise the fresh flavors and creative dishes, some reviews mention occasional inconsistencies in appetizers or flavor profiles. The vibrant atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a memorable meal for most patrons.

"I've been wanting to visit here but parking was always limited. There was finally a spot available, so we stopped.
The atmosphere here is laid back coastal with an earthy chick. The staff is happy, and everyone is there to make your dining experience enjoyable. From the fresh squeezed lemonade to the beignet desert, everything, including the service, was outstanding.
Walk in the side door, near the Plaza for the hostess station, or when picking up your take out orders. We were quickly seated for a 6pm visit and were greeted with water while we placed our drink orders. The drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic arrived quickly. And we placed our dinner orders. We had a member of our party celebrating a birthday, and he ordered multiple items multiple times during our visit. They didn't waste any time bringing out his mid meal orders.
I have to say it. This is the one restaurant in the Wilmington area that I felt actually deserved every penny of their 270.00 bill. Living near the ocean, everything is a little more expensive and usually not worth the extra money. Not here. I had a great time with great people, serving amazing food...and I'll be back again. The scallops and pork back were tender, not over or under cooked. The blackened Mahi had perfect spices."

"Absolutely blown away with the quality, freshness, presentation and service. We were recommended this place by a fishing guide, and the recommendation did not disappoint. The ceviches were excellent. The guacamole is incredible. The watermelon salad is one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. All around, this is the best dinner I’ve ever had the WB area."

Scott Hedge

"Ceviche’s in Wilmington was a great stop for lunch en route to Kure Beach. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the place wasn’t busy.

For food, we got:

Caribbean Fried Oysters: The cornmeal oysters were delectable and went well with the aioli that came with it.

Mango Guacamole: Chips and flavorful guacamole with bits of mango in it made for a wonderful snack too. The chili powder on top elevated the flavor too! They were kind enough to restock our chips.

Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos: The Mahi-mahi fish was cooked perfectly and the slaw, guacamole and lime crema were added in just the right proportion. It made for an excellent and delicious entree. The accompanying coconut rice tasted fresh.

Langoustine Roll: Imagine a soft hotdog filled with langoustine ceviche, fresh arugula and pickled jalapeño—it tasted delicious and was another great entree.

The drinks—Fresca ensalada and the Tropical Lightning IPA—provided just the right kick accompanying the meal.

We sat on the back patio—which was a bit uncomfortable with the sunlight directly streaming down the glass panes. We realised later that we should’ve sat inside instead.

Their other menu items looked interesting and piquant too, ranging from empanadas to soups, salads, and tacos. The Panamanian vibe is in the air too, which is what they rightly advertise themselves as.

Restrooms were clean, and parking was available outside. Our server was kind enough to check on us multiple times. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Ceviche’s, and highly recommend it!"

Panamanian-inspired food is the focus of this lively chef-owned rum bar and restaurant just across the bridge from the beach. The ceviches—traditional Panamanian corvina, lobster, and tuna "cooked" in lime juice—are all wonderful, but ropa vieja (flank steak served over coconut rice) and blackened tuna are tasty, too. Outdoor seating includes a pleasant interior atrium, and tables on the patio by the road.

The 6 Wilmington restaurants featured on ‘Diners, Drive-Ins And Dives’

Description: Open every day except Sunday, Ceviche’s is Wilmington’s hottest Panamanian restaurant. Here, chef-owner Hunter Tiblier cooks up Latin food that builds on his heritage and past, including time spent “fishing with [his] dad” as a kid in Panama, according to the Ceviche’s website. This makes extra sense when one considers that ceviche is a traditional Latin dish composed of raw seafood that’s diced small and then left to marinate in citrus and seasonings, with the citrus’ acid essentially “cooking” the fish and shellfish.

The Best Things To Do In Wilmington, North Carolina

Beach vibes were high—and so were our spirits—as we embarked on our last adventures of the trip: an early dinner at the Panamanian restaurant Ceviche’s and a sunset boat cruise with Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours. As we rode around the Intracoastal Waterway, I sipped a canned cocktail from our earlier visit to End of Days Distillery, felt the wind blow through my hair, and witnessed the sky change from fiery orange to a more docile periwinkle. Along the way, our captain pointed out various islands and birds.

Ceviche’s commitment to fresh and sustainable seafood takes center stage, with unique flavor combinations that will leave you surprised but satisfied. Order their Guac sampler (the seasonal goat cheese guac is out of this world), a ceviche (of course), and their coconut shrimp as appetizers, and don’t forget to try their refreshing house made juice, “Fresca de Ensalada.” Our favorite fish dish on the island is their “Corvina a la Plancha,” plated beside coconut rice and seasonal veggies.

Ceviche’s namesake is also bragged on for being the shining star, but the vibrant Caribbean-inspired tacos have without a doubt earned a spot on this stage. Early on in the day, start off with the Breakfast Tacos packed with scrambled eggs, salsa fresca, avocado, cheese, citrus cream, and your choice of bacon or chorizo. Step up your heat game at lunch with the Blackened Corvina Tacos exploding with tuna, pickled cabbage, jalapeno aioli, creamy avocado, and a sweet pineapple salsa.
