Reviews Summary

Second Street American Bistro is celebrated for its delicious food, attentive service, and romantic ambiance, particularly its koi pond patio. While many praise the quality of dishes and the welcoming atmosphere, some reviews mention occasional slow service. Overall, it's considered a must-visit for its elevated tavern fare and delightful dining experience.

"We absolutely loved our first experience dining here. The cocktails were excellent, the apps were fantastic and the mains were also great. Everything from the food, cocktails and service was splendid. Definitely a must visit for dinner when visiting Williamsburg. I highly recommend ordering the burrata, and the Thai poppin shrimp. We had salads that evening since it had been a full day of eating, but next time we’re back I am trying some more substantial main entrees that looked great coming out to neighboring tables. There’s an outdoor seating area and then the main indoor dining area. When we arrived there was a wait, but we only waited about 10 minutes and the place was packed. There’s a reason this place is reviewed so highly and I’m happy to say it lived up to the hype."

"Cool spot. Went to the bar Tuesday night (7/8/25 pics of menu are current to this post) around 8:30pm and had the Coconut pineapple colada cocktail. ($10) It was pretty good. Thicker than I expected, almost the viscosity of a smoothie? It's hard to explain. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. All around good atmosphere, a great place for a 2 top date. Get the enormous chocolate or carrot cake!"

JASON BROCKINTON

"The food is amazing, the atmosphere was great, but the service was a little slow and seemed very delayed. We also ordered a couple desserts (mixed berry crisp and a sundae). If the service was better, I would have given this place a perfect 5."

Where to Find Non-Alcoholic Drinks & Cocktails in Williamsburg, Viriginia

Fruity flavors rule at Second Street Bistro, where NA blood orange, mixed berry, and apple tipples complete a robust cocktail and vino menu (and multiple awards from Wine Spectator magazine). Whether it’s the Blood Orange Sunset with house syrup, citrus bitters, and blood and orange juices, the Mixed Berry Soda with mint syrup, or the Cider Mule with ginger beer, each can be booze-free or spirit-driven. For those watching their wallet or waistline, however, detox-friendly mocktails bring the cost down into the single digits.

Travel Diary: Williamsburg, Virginia

Second Street an American Bistro— We went to this restaurant after spending the morning exploring Colonial Williamsburg, and it was such a wonderful spot to sit in the air conditioning and indulge in a really yummy lunch. The owner, Mickey, could not have been kinder and said that he has two daughters who were around our age (we reminded him of them! 😊) We’d recommend getting the onion rings (with a sriracha ranch dressing!) and the 2nd St ‘Burg & Blue salad!
