Reviews Summary

Diners at DoG Street Pub appreciate the gastropub's British-influenced comfort food and extensive craft beer selection. The dog-friendly patio and historic Colonial Williamsburg setting are also significant draws. While many praise the friendly staff and good food, some reviews mention minor issues with food preparation or service attentiveness.

"Although our visit was due to a planned event through the Hilton Grand, I must say it was more than what we expected. We knew an event was planned but we thought that we were going to order food that was prepaid. Instead, we received a well-planned full-course meal with drinks and a thorough education on the drinks. We also had planned to purchase souvenirs but souvenirs were given as well as the recipes for the delicious drinks. I must say that Sydney did an awesome job planning this event and the DoG Street Pubs crew was also amazing. We both thank you all for the well-thought-out event and the pleasure of meeting several people that were also Hilton Members. Thank you so much"

"I ordered my burger with some pink, but it was well done. It had a decent flavor and was still pretty moist. However, the bottom bun was hard as a rock. I did not feel like the waitress was very attentive, which seems to be the case when you are a single female diner. 🤔
The door to the restaurant squeaked loudly when people entered and exited. Unfortunately, I could not NOT hear this (thanks ADHD) and began to hyperfocus on it to the point that I was not feeling very relaxed or happy. Overall, my experience was mid, at best. I did tell the manager about the door issue and suggested WD40. She looked at me like I'm a crazy person. I asked a couple of other diners if they noticed it. They did not. If the shoe fits 👞
Truly, though, I can't be the ONLY one who notices it."

"This place is very well situated with a great selection of drinks and food.
It’s got nice outdoor seating so it’s perfect for a cocktail after work.

The food is very tourist friendly and has a certain older flare to it, serving such dishes as stewed meats and mash potatoes.

The staff were very friendly and really tried hard to make sure you were comfortable."

Deemed as an American gastropub with an English vibe and menu, DoG Street Pub always has an impressive draft selection, both on tap or bottled. DoG Street is a play on Duke of Gloucester Street, which is where this gastropub is located. The building is an 80-some-year-old bank reimaged into a pub that also offers British plates like shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and bangers with mash (pork sausage with mashed potatoes).

Of course, the name, but also because this establishment has the same ownership as the pet-friendly Trellis Bar & Grill, which is right next door. They are crazy about dogs here and community, and in addition to running an excellent pub, they have a dog-friendly running club, with folks meeting up every Monday at 5 p.m. for a 5K jog (with your canine, if you like), followed by a pint and a small bite to eat.
