In South Florida, that excitement surrounds Henry’s Palm Beach (Palm Beach, FL), which debuted June 17 as the newcomer to the island’s dining scene. This neighborhood restaurant — the latest addition to the culinary collection of The Breakers Palm Beach — features elevated comfort food with character and a hint of nostalgia. Located just a few minutes from the resort on Royal Poinciana Way (Palm Beach’s original Main Street), it is situated at Via Flagler by The Breakers, an alfresco plaza featuring a curated collection of boutiques, eateries and residences.

Long before Henry’s opened in 2020 on Royal Poinciana Way, the restaurant’s namesake, Standard Oil baron and Florida developer Henry Flagler was serving guests Maine lobster at his luxe Gilded Age Palm Beach hotels, including The Breakers, Henry’s parent company. Flagler didn’t serve lobster rolls — his hotel restaurants typically served boiled lobster with drawn butter for dipping — but they’re a popular menu item at Henry’s. The sandwich is $46 with lightly dressed Maine lobster served in a butter-topped cut bun.

Other additions to the list of the Best Palm Beach restaurants are Clay Conley’s Buccan which I plan to try next time (he’s scheduled to open Chateau Miami on Brickell), and The Breakers hotel has a restaurant that opened during the pandemic — Henry’s, an American inspired bistro. I also heard that Cucina Palm Beach is a new “hot spot” with a disco ball and bottle service and another referred by a reliable palate, this for casual dining, Avocado Grill.

You could easily block off a whole day to eat and drink your way through The Breakers Palm Beach with its 12+ dining options, but Henry’s is the newest of their restaurants and definitely worth checking out, although it’s not located inside the Flager compound but rather at Via Flagler by The Breakers, down the street. Go for happy hour, lunch or dinner and try the pigs in a pretzel dough blanket, butter crumb Dover sole and chicken pot pie.

What about brunch not only on Saturdays and Sundays, but every day of the week?. So goes the story at Henry’s, where a brunch menu, in addition to the lunch menu, is available daily during the daytime. Favorites include avocado toast ($29) with poached egg, bacon and tomato jam; smoked salmon with classic accoutrements ($29), lemon-ricotta-blueberry pancakes with maple-lacquered bacon ($26) and a crab eggs Benedict with asparagus ($39).

Henry’s Palm Beach — A second off-property restaurant from the iconic The Breakers Palm Beach opened this summer, just down the street from the Royal Poinciana eclectic shopping mecca. Americana dishes like butter crumb Dover sole with creamy rice grits and corned beef baguette with Thousand Island dressing are the lure, but for those who prefer a lighter option, fish entrees can be grilled or bronzed.

We loved the newest addition, Henry’s Palm Beach, a short resort-car ride away (guests can request the resort’s Teslas for all resort restaurants not located in the main building). Henry’s Palm Beach offered an incredible meal of house-made pigs in pretzel-roll blankets with cheese dipping sauce, lobster truffled risotto, house-made pastas and a showstopping ice cream mud pie for dessert.

Situated within the renowned Breakers Hotel, Henry’s is the perfect spot for a luxurious brunch experience. Enjoy a delicious crab cake benedict while taking in the beautiful, breezy views of the island from the outdoor terrace. For those craving something more daring, the fried chicken and red velvet waffles with spicy maple syrup offer a bold and flavorful twist on brunch classics.

Also part of the Breakers’ dining ensemble, Henry’s has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a menu that showcases the best of American comfort food. The brunch menu features delights like lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, a BLT avocado toast, and even filet mignon and eggs. Plus, some excellent brunch cocktails for those looking to experience outstanding morning mixology.

American classics like filet mignon are also on the menu and of top quality, and there are new creative additions like avocado fries.

For families celebrating a special occasion, Henry’s delivers an upscale ambiance with comfort foods kids will love. Menu items run the gamut from casual classics like burgers and hot dogs to festive-but-still-kid-friendly options like dover sole, filet mignon, and beef Wellington. Weekend brunch is also available.
