Topped with local Chesapeake Bay soft-shell crab, these seasonal babies are as delicious (and downright filling) as they are Insta-famous. Apart from Bloody Marys, the restaurant’s extensive cocktail menu includes an assortment of “crushes” made with fresh juices, as well as mega mimosas so huge they’re made for sharing with your fellow brunchers.

Taking the number-one spot on my list is Bay Local Eatery and they’ve actually made my list before when talking about places to eat in Virginia Beach, but today it’s all about the brunch menu. What I love about Bay Local Eatery is that they have a bunch of convenient locations around town like the one off of Laskin Road, right across from the Beach Cinema Alehouse. The brunch menu here is unbeatable and you simply must try one of their jumbo mimosas.

Bay Local Eatery has breakfast stuff that’s sourced locally, and we like to go to Union Alehouse because they’re always mixing up the menu.” Blue Pete’s in the historic Pungo area is known as “the local’s secret” for its laid-back vibe and amazing seafood dishes. Esoteric is a cutting-edge gastropub with an eclectic menu. Doc Taylor’s is a brunch favorite in an old cottage, that, yes, used to be the practice of the titular physician.

As I’m sure many of you would agree, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that because brunch is clearly the best meal of the day. My personal favorite, Bay Local Eatery, is a VB breakfast goldmine. With locally sourced produce, meats, fish, and seafood all priced at an incredibly affordable rate, there’s just no chance you’ll leave unsatisfied. Bay Local offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you could ideally spend your whole day here (and it wouldn’t have been a day wasted).
