What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Old Salty Dog Venice offers a casual waterfront dining experience with some standout dishes, particularly its famous Loaded Salty Dog and a dog-friendly atmosphere. While many praise the attentive service and great views, a few reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and slow service during peak times.
"my hubby finds the most interesting places to eat waterfront. Server was amazing. We enjoyed the patio, where we watched a huge forklift grab a stored boat and put it in the water for the owner. Very relaxing 😎"

"After a morning at the Brohard Paw Park, I took my two salty dogs to the Old Salty Dog. This is my new favorite restaurant close to the dog beach. The side entrance provides easy access for you and your pups, they have very reasonably priced dog menu items which are good size portions. My coconut shrimp and the chowder was excellent. The staff is very attentive to you and your dogs and the tables are spaced enough to have some room. The drinks are well poured."

"Was looking for a waterfront eating establishment… saw that it was rated 4+ stars. So we gave it a try. Place had a funky local vibe, looked clean and inviting. We sat outside, great weather and the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed! We liked that. Ordered a couple house signature drinks, they were OK, wife said she really couldn’t taste any alcohol in her drink mostly juice(shark bite) my margarita w/ corona floater was OK. Then it got annoying, “dog friendly”, NOT A big fan of restaurants that allow dogs. Especially when you have dogs that are barking at servers, other patrons, and just being annoying as hell. C’mon your dog doesn’t have to be with you at a restaurant, I get it, WE LOVE our dogs, but we understand that there is a time and place for them, a RESTAURANT is not it! Sorry…
Anyways, food was disappointing, wife’s order did not arrive as ordered. My fish wrap was mostly wrap and not much fish. Overall 2 stars, and was disappointed. I do not recommend this place."
