Amelia's Wood Fired Cuisine

Oren, in the city’s Brookside neighborhood, also prides itself on being fruit and vegetable focused, as does Amelia’s, which specializes in wood-fired cuisine and is located across from the Woody Guthrie Center.

Amelia’s is the creation of Amelia Eesley, former general manager at Stonehorse Cafe. Together with chef Kevin Snell, himself a Stonehorse alum, they have put together a unique restaurant, specializing in wood-fired, locally sourced cuisine, paired with wines from around the world. The restaurant occupies a narrow space that once housed the bar Mason’s, and which has been transformed into a dining area and bar that is at once elegant and cozy.

With its vibrant energy, exquisite fare, and touch of vintage whimsy, Amelia’s offers more than just a meal, and it has a soft spot in my heart as one of my favorite date spots in the city. Yes, the dining room and the sizzling kitchen can get loud, but the noise makes the restaurant feel buzzy and welcoming all at the same time. Dishes arrive on mismatched china from the now-closed Miss Mcgillicutty's Antiques in Jenks.

Long before there was Amelia’s Wood Fired Cuisine, and even longer before the James Beard nomination for then executive chef Kevin Snell, Eesley headed for New York City to study musical theatre at American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan. The stage was to be her future, but the 20-year-old also needed a gig to make money, so she jumped right back into serving … but this time, she went the fine dining route.

Amelia’s Wood Fired Cuisine stands out as a culinary gem that combines rustic charm with a commitment to wood-fired perfection. Located in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District, this restaurant creates an inviting atmosphere with its warm and cozy ambiance. The focal point of Amelia’s is its wood-fired grill, infusing each dish with a distinct smoky flavor and a touch of authenticity.

This Tulsa date night spot features live entertainment including live music on Wednesday through Saturday nights!. They offer a wine list and delicious food menu with items such as the tenderloin tournedos & wood-fired pizza.

Amelia's makes its delicious pastas from scratch, and their taste is something to write home about. The following dishes are from Amelia's fall and winter menu, but expect some fresh spring dishes (including pasta!) just around the corner. Amelia's spring 2022 Pappardelle featured rock shrimp and pesto — yum!

The garden space at the entrance of Amelia’s might be tiny, but it is one of our favorite patios. Sitting in the open air is perfect for dinner for two. The intimacy of the small tables and surrounding greenery is part of the charm of this patio.
