What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Great Commoner garners praise for its exceptional pastries, gourmet brunch and dinner options, and elegant yet casual atmosphere. Many highlight attentive service and flavorful dishes. However, some diners have reported issues with food quality and service inconsistency, leading to disappointing experiences.
"This establishment is top tier.
Hussain was our waiter for a table of 10 guest and he was very attentive to our needs.
Food came out in record time even with main dishes being made to order. Everyone was satisfied and loved every bite. Food was very flavorful and although it may seem a little pricey the portions are a nice size so the price is justified.
Definitely grab a croissant to go if you dont have one while dining in.
Me and my family will definitely go back to try more flavorful options."

"Adam was an awesome server. He explained the menu items and suggested his favorite items. The Cafe Latte was a great starter. My daughter enjoyed a refreshing drink, hibiscus tea. Loved the halal menu. Kids went for steak and eggs, which they loved. I had fresh dip, the meat was juicy and not like deli meat, which I appreciated. The owner came over and greeted us, felt very welcoming. We will be back soon!"

"We decided to have brunch here for our anniversary and what a pleasant surprise.
The food, atmosphere, service, specialty coffee were all spot on delicious and memorable. I had the short rib and my wife had the croissant with turkey bacon, both were hot and delicious. Slightly on the higher side $100+ including tip for two diners. Highly recommend and the manager was floating around the dining room checking on tables to insure the experience was at their standard."

Always bustling, The Great Commoner considers itself more of a break cafe than a lunch destination. One side of the well designed space is dedicated to meeting areas and comfy lounges, while the other is filled with tables for dining. Order up milky lattes with sweet syrups and French pastries from the cafe powered by Cannelle by Matt Knio, or soups, salads, sandwiches and all-day brunch staples, such as steak and eggs and ful madamas, a dish of stewed fava beans, cherry tomato, shatta and a blend of herbs.
