Reviews Summary
Antonio's Cucina Italiana is praised for its authentic, home-style Italian cooking and the unique experience of watching fresh pasta being made. Diners often enjoy the ranch dressing and bruschetta, and some highlight exceptional customer service. However, some reviews mention issues with bland entrees and a strict no-substitution policy, leading to disappointment for some long-time patrons.
"The food was perfection. There had been a delay in service, which led to me almost walking out... but the staff and managers stopped us and apologized for the one waitress (Diana). I requested a different waitress and am so happy that I did. She had a smile on the entire time and was very attentive to even the smallest of things. Thank you so much to the manager and general manager for the canolli. It was not expected and is so appreciated. The rest of the dinner ran smoothly, and I will always be going back. One bad waitress does not mean it's a bad establishment. The food was delicious, the space was clean, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure their guests were happy. Thank you for what ended up being a good dinner! I've been a customer since 2012 till now and will always go back when I have that warm Italian food craving! And as always I highly recommend this place. Thank you again to the 2nd waitress Sofia for such a great experience! She had serious skills when it came to customer service!"

"My family and I came here for our first time. We were very excited to try Antonio’s since living in Dearborn for a while now. When we first sat down, the atmosphere was nice especially with the Christmas decor. For our appetizers, we ordered the mussels and calamari. The mussels were cool/warm and not hot/warm as we expected. They tasted average, I’ve definitely had better from other restaurants. The calamari tasted sour and was over cooked. We’ve heard many good things about the bread. Personally to me, the bread was plain and there was nothing spectacular about it. Adding Parmesan cheese made the bread taste a little better. The house salad was fresh tasting, I really enjoyed the romaine lettuce as well. The house dressing was too vinegary, but ranch is the better option. For the entrees we ordered the Asiago Chicken Linguine, Mostaccioli Casseruola with meatballs, and the Spaghetti and Meat Ball. Spinach was supposed to be in the Asiago Chicken Linguine, but there was no sign of it. Unfortunately, the dish tasted very bland and the chicken was also dry. Based on first looks, the Mostaccioli Casseruola looked unappealing. After taking a bite, there was absolutely no flavor of spices or anything. I instantly pushed the dish to the side due to my disappointment. The Spaghetti and Meat Ball was passing, but not the best. The only redeeming elements were the bread with Parmesan cheese on top and the water.
Overall, my experience was underwhelming. We followed the server's recommendations, but that only led to further disappointment. This visit has left my family and me with no desire to return. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The bill came to $103 for two appetizers and three entrees, and honestly, it felt like a complete waste of money and time. We didn’t want to package our food to take home, but we didn’t out of kindness. The pictures provided are the Mostaccioli Casseruola and what happened to the food, after it fell from the counter🙂👍🏻"
