What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Haiku Tampa offers a visually stunning dining experience with a chic, modern ambiance and a menu of Asian fusion delights. Many praise the incredibly fresh sushi, flavorful ramen, and creative cocktails, as well as attentive service from staff like Sebastian. However, some diners have reported issues with service speed, inconsistency in food preparation, and uncomfortable temperatures within the restaurant.
"I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times for both brunch and dinner, and it never disappoints. The sushi is always fresh and flavorful, and the desserts are a perfect way to end the meal. The overall food quality is excellent, with a well balanced menu that offers something for everyone. The service has consistently been attentive and friendly, making each visit enjoyable. Whether dining indoors or outdoors, the ambiance adds to the experience, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. Looking forward to coming back again!"

"Terrible from start to finish. Waited 25 minutes at hostess stand without anyone coming to help. Ended up seating myself and waiting another 15 minutes for a waitress to help.
Food is terrible - they even forgot the egg as a part of my ramen and brought me a frozen egg when I mentioned the missing item which was disgusting.
Octopus is so tough and chewy. Terribly cooked from frozen.
Mango sticky rice is absolutely horrendous. Nothing like what you expect.
Temperature is terrible - they don’t use A/C so it’s incredibly hot and humid in restaurant.
Avoid this place at all costs."

"I tried a few dishes at HAIKU and the Grilled Octopus was the clear winner for me. It was tender, flavorful, and paired well with the fresh slaw and dipping sauce. The sushi rolls, however, were underwhelming. Both the Spicy Yellowfin Tuna Roll and the Volcano Roll were fresh but fairly average. Nothing about them really stood out in terms of flavor or presentation."

If you’re catching the parade near the end of the route, walk a few blocks over to this downtown Tampa restaurant, which has a large outdoor bar and patio right on N Franklin Street. The Asian fusion spot features a selection of izakaya-style small and shared plates (Wagyu bao buns, anyone?), plus a solid list of creative sushi rolls. (The torch hamachi roll is a must.) The long list of craft cocktails, many of which pull from the restaurant’s sake menu, is the other draw and includes creative quaffs like the Dragon’s Breath Gimlet, which combines Nolet’s gin, sake, cucumber and ginger.
