"We are down here in Florida for our honeymoon and my husband is a huge seafood eater - he got the King Crab (he can never find it in NWI - where we are from) and I got the Philly (I’m not a seafood person) needless to say both meals were amazingly great!
Not only was the food amazing but so was the staff. I wish I could remember our servers name, unfortunately I cannot - I’m horrible with names 🤦‍♀️ - anyways he was just absolutely hands down the best server we have had anywhere! We came in there at 8 PM knowing they close at 9 I didn’t expect to be treated so nicely, generally whenever we’ve went into a restaurant an hour before they close, they’re rushing us. But here, it was completely different- our waiter was nice, continually kept our drinks full, checked on us, and food came out promptly. Because of all this we left a very nice tip. It’s not often we experience this kind of treatment and we wanted to make sure our waiter knew we really appreciated him.
Also, the decor signs had me cracking up - I loved them!

"I first visited with my family over 15 years ago when we visited FL. What I vaguely remembered were the $1 bills, seafood, blackened grouper, shrimp and gator bites. Fast forward and we came back to visit and I couldn't leave without making a stop at PJ's to relive my childhood memories with family. Fyi the $1 bills are still there. Easy drive to this location by St Pete Beach with ample parking, the decor is kitschy, eccentric, homey and comfortable - just as I remembered it 15 years ago. There was a good crowd on the Wednesday evening we went so with the music and hum drum of the dining room and the kitchen staff it was quite lively.

We dined on over 2.5 dozen fresh raw oysters, giant lobster tail, crab cakes, clam chowder, grouper nuggets,and gator tail. The food was delicious however our lobster tail was quite undercooked. Our server was amazing, attentive and since we dined with a large party she was super helpful with our young child in tow.

PJ's food quality in seafood is what I remember it to be, doesn't disappoint and I'll be back sooner next time! 😊"

"No frills, easy choice for our last night in St. Pete's and probably the best meal of the trip. The appetizers were terrific and oysters were HUGE. The food was much better than the overly complex sauces and seasonings at Salt Rock Grill.

Ahi dinner was spectacular but the key lime pie barely had any lime taste and the homemade clam chowder had no clams... tasted like cream of chicken soup.
Good value, so we'll definitely be back. But our server was EVERYTHING!"
