Do not leave St. Augustine without picking up tacos from Osprey Tacos!. Located on the ‘island’ side of St. Augustine just across the Bridge of Lions, this casual taco joint has an incredible reputation that’s absolutely justified — I could have eaten lunch here every single day during our vacation and gone home happy. The menu is filled with inventive taco options like The Sprout (crispy fried brussels sprouts, black bean puree, pickled onions, Cotija cheese) and The Boise (crispy fried potatoes, scallions, cheddar cheese) and we wanted to try all of them — but the tacos we chose on our first visit were so amazing (the San Diego had skirt steak, crispy fries, avocado, onion and salsa verde, the St. Augustine had fresh fried shrimp, pickled onion, cabbage, house-made datl, and pink sauce) that we ended up ordering the same tacos every time we ate there.

We went to Osprey Tacos on Anastasia Boulevard twice while we were in St. Augustine and loved it!. They only have outdoor seating (unless you go to the brewery next door), but we took our food to go both times we ate there so that wasn’t an issue. They have several options that are gluten free and dairy free, and I was able to get subs or have certain things like cheese removed easily.

Clearly, tacos are pretty popular in this town, but Osprey Tacos has a lot going on that other places don’t. They keep it simple sticking to just tacos and taco bowls with plentiful topping options. You can find traditional street tacos with meat, cilantro, radish, and onion or insane creations like a Cuban taco with prosciutto, swiss cheese, and pickles!

With an array of fun and unique tacos to choose from, like Cheeseburger, Cuban, and even Pork Fried Rice, these tacos will undoubtedly leave you feeling satisfied. Tacos are one of our favorite types of food, so when one of our subscribers (local to St. Augustine) told us about Osprey Tacos, we knew we had to b-line it there to try them!. Osprey Tacos is probably the best Mexican restaurant in St Augustine Beach. Using many organic ingredients and always offering a rotating vegetarian and vegan taco special, Osprey Tacos is extremely welcoming to multiple dietary needs. It’s been open just a few years in St. Augustine but has proven itself a standard taco spot by the beach.
