Reviews Summary

Ice Plant Bar is lauded for its inventive, handcrafted cocktails and unique, historic industrial ambiance. Diners rave about the delicious, locally sourced farm-to-table dishes, with standout mentions for appetizers and brunch items. While the atmosphere and service generally receive high marks, some reviews note occasional service delays or that certain dishes or drinks may not align with everyone's personal taste.

"It is such a neat place to enjoy a farm to table meal! The food was incredible, the service was exceptional, and the drinks were handcrafted. If you have kids, don't let that discourage you from going. We were able to leave our stroller downstairs, and they had a high chair and kids menu available. There is also an outdoor patio. We tried the burger and the Caesar salad, with watermelon lemonade and lavender lemonade to wash it down. 5/5!"

Andrea K

"Loved everything about this place! The decor was interesting with a fun atmosphere, and great customer service from Jasmine! My cocktail (Waiting in Vain) was tasty and refreshing. We started by sharing the Lil Gems Caesar…best caesar I have ever had, the olive tapenade made the dish. I loved every part of the Skillet Fried Chicken & Hoecakes! The chicken was crispy and juicy, and the hoecakes were so delicious (loved the apricot butter!). My husband also loved the burger and cocktail (Dazed and Confused). Would highly recommend!"

Carrie G

"I would recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, though the main course was not to my liking and the rest of our order wasn’t the best. The drink also wasn’t to my taste, and while sitting near the bar I had to wait a bit since the bartender stepped away. The restaurant is located above the distillery, which adds a unique touch. Facilities were clean, parking was convenient, and the area was very chic and well-kept. Overall, I really enjoyed the location."

Best Things to Do in St. Augustine: 14 Reasons to Drive to St. Augustine

It’s no secret that St. Augustine is home to a pretty killer food scene—after all, the city has had roughly 450 years to perfect the craft. Columbia’s had the longest to get it right, a 1905 Cuban/Spanish spot whose Tampa cousin is the oldest restaurant in the state. Also in the Old City you’ll find Casa Maya, where fresh Mexican seafood follows the city’s best fresh made guacamole.

30 Fun Things to Do in St. Augustine – This Post has All You Need to Know!

Looking for a hip place that serves craft cocktails and delicious food?. We love The Ice Plant, a sophisticated bar inside a thoughtfully-restored 1927 factory where ice was once made and cut for local shrimpers — When renovating the space, the owners went to great lengths to make customers feel like they’re walking into an old factory, and I’d say they got that vibe exactly right. While there’s a tasty-looking menu with burgers, fried chicken, local seafood, and more, the cocktails are the true focus here, and also what’s made Ice Plant one of Florida’s best bars — Bartenders make most of the sodas, juices, and syrups themselves and use local small-batch spirits when possible.

Finally, not to be missed is the Ice Plant Bar, conveniently located upstairs in the same historic building, as St. Augustine Distillery. Formerly the FP&L Ice Plant, the building was lovingly restored and brought back into service to house Florida’s first craft distillery and continue its legacy into the next century. Built as part of St. Augustine’s first power and ice complex in 1907, the Ice Plant is a contributing building to the Lincolnville Neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places and was the first of its kind to make commercial block ice in Florida over 100 years ago.

Farther west, the St. Augustine Distillery and The Ice Plant have turned an industrial stretch along the San Sebastian River into a craft-cocktail destination with style to spare.
