The favorite restaurant of many frequent Zion National Park visitors, the Brew Pub maintains a wonderfully social yet polished environment that will make anyone feel comfortable as can be. Well- known for their handcrafted ales and seasonal drafts (from the Zion Canyon Brewing Company) in addition to a delicious upscale pub menu, hungry people of all ages and food preferences should have absolutely no problem having one of the best meals they’ve ever had at the Brew Pub. Your Zion itinerary needs to include at least one meal here.

Once we all regrouped and met back up at the Zion Canyon Brew Pub, we had come celebratory beers and snacks (came to $10 per person), changed and got back in the van to drive to the Canyon Overlook Trail for sunset. This is a short, 1 mile hike that I had thought was a quick “walk”, but it was actually still hiking and recommend wearing actual shoes. It rewards you with the most GORGEOUS views and photo ops, especially at golden hour (we googled the sunset and planned accordingly).

As I mentioned up top, there are a number of hotels at the base of Zion in Springdale, but personally I loved staying in Hurricane, midway between St. George and the park entrance itself. Coral Springs Resort not only offered well-appointed suites at a very reasonable price, but it was located very close to a number of the state parks. Another friend also stayed at Red Mountain Resort while there, and I’ve heard many fellow travelers sing its praises, as well.

Now, in spite of getting the right location and timing the crowds and access for our road trip; there was one thing I'd missed. It seems that many of the restaurants; especially the ones we wanted to eat at in Springdale close for a break following the Thanksgiving weekend. So, we decided to head back across the parking lot to the Zion Canyon Brewpub.

To reward ourselves, we stopped at the Zion Canyon Brew Pub just outside the park gate to enjoy what turned out to be an excellent glass of stout, according to Steve. We somehow ended up stopping there several more times after other long hikes in the park, but that’s another post…

The bicycle entrance to Zion National Park is in Springdale next to the Zion Outfitter and the Zion Brew Pub. You’ll cross a small bridge with the Zion National Park River/Pedestrian Entrance fee station. The path will lead into the parking lot of the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.

I think I just had a bad experience here but overall it is a cool spot with a solid menu & they brew their own beers. Their patio is terrific with views of the red rocks and the virgin river flowing just outside the patio walls.

Zion Outfitters is where you can easily grab your gear for the Narrows or just peruse it around the shop full of cool souvenirs and additional hiking gear. This is also the place to rent bikes!

the zion brewery pub & bar was hands down my favorite restaurant of the trip. they have amazing burgers and fries. you can even get beer to go!

We also spent some solid time Day 1 at the Zion Brew Pub, which has good beer and some of best (IPA-Siracha) chicken wings I’ve ever had.
