I’ve been visiting Sonoma and Napa since I was a child growing up in San Diego. And for Tracie and me, California wine country is filled with memories of when we first met and got engaged. It is a part of my native state that evokes our spiritual homeland, Italy.

Many visitors pop in Valley Bar & Bottle for weekend brunch, so their farm-to-table dinner is often overlooked. Reservations are encouraged, but you may luck out on a walk-in. The food here is Mediterranean-inspired, simple, and incredible from the open kitchen.

The Sausage Emporium is a family-owned eatery that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. It offers gourmet sausage flights, sandwiches, craft brews, wine, and locally roasted Fair Trade, Organic Artisan coffee.

I have a gluten free diet restriction and many of their entrees and sides are gluten free. One of the plates I got was Roasted Stone Fruit with Ricotta. The flavors and textures were wonderful.
