Tasca is a family-run traditional Portuguese eatery serving classic dishes. In the 20th century, these spots were simple places for workers to warm their food in exchange for buying wine and coffee. Today, they’re a key part of Portuguese culture. 📍Find this tasca here: Tasco do Colarense - R. dos Marinheiros 6, Colares, Portugal

Reviews Summary

Tasca Tasca offers a delightful Portuguese tapas experience with a wide array of unique and comforting small plates. Diners rave about the creative flavors and the authentic all-Portuguese wine list. While the food is consistently praised, some reviews mention slow service during busy periods and occasionally overly salty seasoning.

"Literally amazing and my favorite tapas place. I love having options and if we had more friends to join, I could see us ordering the whole menu. Oyster was refreshing; ceviche was well-seasoned; pickles were marinated well to pair with the mac-n-cheese. Escargot was generous in the amount and the duck breast was perfectly smocked. You need to wrap up the meal with Portuguese Olive Oil ice cream. The staff there are friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely come back!"

Sally

"We were blown away.

The food was incredible. Extremely unique. Decent size portions for being a tapas restaurant. Creative menu items and lots of fun.

We had a variety of dishes including: pickled vegetables, pigs ears, hot wings, beef tartare, squid salad, barbecue slider, Portuguese sausage, smoked duck, escargot, oysters (which had broken shells in it which were disappointing), codfish cakes, oil ice cream, mac & cheese, goat stew and green beans.

Order more food than you think you are going to eat.

The vibe seemed a bit odd. It was very bright and farm house feel, almost like an antique store/vintage gift shop. It could have been a bit more intimate.

We will definitely be back when in town."

"Good tapas, the taste seemed to be designed to go well with drinks.

By itself I found it to be a little too salty.

The highlight for me was the prawn ceviche. This really stood out! Fresh and has this complexity in flavour that I enjoy in a ceviche

Oysters fresh

The rest probably would go well with drinks"

The 16 Best Restaurants In Sonoma - San Francisco

Sonoma might be a small city, but it has more Portuguese restaurants than many much bigger towns. Tasca Tasca focuses on petiscos (Portuguese tapas), which you can order as a mix-and-match tasting plate from five categories: cheese, garden, land, sea, and sweet. Tasca Tasca also features an all-Portuguese wine list, so you can try some unique wines that you won’t find on most lists, like a crisp white vinho verde or rich reds from the Douro Valley.

Portuguese eatery LaSalette has been a downtown Sonoma staple since it opened in 1998. Then, chef/owner Manuel Azevedo added another gem to his portfolio: Tasca Tasca, a tapas restaurant and wine bar. Family photos from the chef’s native Azores warm the homey interior; his family's long history of farming in Sonoma infuses the menu, which is wide-ranging, tantalizing, and very well-priced.

There’s no better place to try Portuguese food and wine(other than Portugal of course), than Tasca Tasca just off the Plaza in Sonoma. When I lived in the area I went as often as possible. The atmosphere reminded me of Portugal, the portions are tapas-style, and they have a good selection of Portuguese wines by the glass.
