Reviews Summary
Sunflower Caffé is praised for its vibrant patio, delicious farm-to-table brunch options, and unique specialty drinks. While many rave about the fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and friendly service, some find the prices high and note potential for slow service during peak times. The atmosphere and food quality are consistent highlights, though the cost and occasional service hiccups are noted.
"Wow I loved this place! I got the chicken avocado grilled cheese and it was perfectly melty and delicious. Everything on the menu sounded enticing, I can’t wait to try more items. Super cute outdoor patio with plenty of umbrellas for some shade in the Sonoma summer heat. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town!"
Shelby Maikisch
"Had a great brunch here with great friends! We shared the stuffed peppers and the coconut waffle and then indulged in the Cuban sandwich, salmon eggs Benedict, avocado toast, and kale chicken Caesar! There was a bit of a wait but not too bad. The dining area in the back is really nice and the service was great too. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice brunch place in Sonoma with friends"
Adam Spiegel
"This is the amazing all around. The food was incredible. There were 7 of us and we all tried everyone’s choices and they were all fantastic. The coconut passion fruit waffle was the crowd favorite and the zucchini bread was the best we’ve ever had. The service was fantastic-our server was so friendly. And the atmosphere is so charming and beautiful. We’re going back again during our trip - highly recommend!"

Several dishes here can be made vegan at your request, but officially vegan offerings on the menu include smoothies like the PB&C (peanut butter, banana and cocoa) with almond milk; a roasted cauliflower wrap on a spinach tortilla; a Golden Bowl with quinoa, roasted sweet potato, and sauteed greens; and a Hippie Salad with kale, avocado, spiced chickpeas, and sweet pepper cashew dressing.

Residing within Historic Landmark #501, Sunflower Caffee was once the home of Captain Salvador Vallejo, brother of General Mariano G. Vallejo, who founded Sonoma. The adobe was built by Indian labor between 1836 and 1846, and was occupied by Captain Vallejo and his family until the Bear Flag Party seized Sonoma on June 4, 1846. Rather than a mob of men rushing inside the building in part to establish a revolutionary government for a state that would later boast the world’s eighth-largest economy, today, you’ll find locals popping in for a quick pick me up to get their morning going.
