Reviews Summary

Resurrection Roadhouse offers a dining experience enhanced by spectacular views of the Alaskan wilderness, with many guests praising the fresh Alaskan seafood and comforting dishes. While the ambiance and views are consistently lauded, some diners have noted issues with slow service and high prices, suggesting a need for improved consistency in food preparation and service delivery.

"FOR THE 2025 SEASON:
This restaurant is seasonal and recently reopened for the year. My wife and I came here for dinner and overall enjoyed our meal. We gave the restaurant a bit more grace than usual for a few reasons it had just reopened, and much of the staff appeared to be new.

Service:
We were seated by a hostess in a section with about 15 tables, only four of which were occupied. There seemed to be three servers assigned to this area. However, after being seated, we weren’t approached by anyone for nearly 10 minutes. Several servers walked past us repeatedly without so much as an acknowledgment not even a “someone will be with you shortly.” It felt like we were invisible. Oddly enough, the restaurant seemed overstaffed, and the servers appeared to be looking for something to do, just not helping us. Fortunately, once a server did come by, things improved significantly from there.

Food:
Kelp & Artichoke Dip
Alaska Salmon
Surf & Turf (10oz Sirloin with Shrimp)

The food was actually pretty good. I always try to keep a few things in mind while in Seward; that being, we’re in Seward, Alaska, a small town that thrives on seasonal tourism. I’m not expecting a Michelin Star experience, just a solid meal after a day of exploring. With that context, the food met our expectations and we left full and happy."

"Resurrection Roadhouse is a conveniently located restaurant within the Windsong Lodge area. The menu is somewhat limited for lunch and dinner, but the food was delicious! There is also a wonderful menu of drinks. We had a delicious dinner with very tasty dessert. The waiter staff is friendly and service is very prompt. The cherry on the top is spectacular view of the snow capped mountains! If it is warm enough, I would definitely recommend sitting at the outdoor patio!"

"Our server did his best to give us a good experience, but there was a massive delay from the kitchen. We arrived for an early dinner at five thirty p m., successfully ordered starters, and then proceeded to wait. As the tables around us filled in with newly arriving guests who also ordered, received their food, sat around for a while, ordered dessert, received their dessert, paid their checks, and left, we continue to wait for our entrees. The server professionally and apologetically came by every ten minutes or so to either profusely apologize for the delay and assure us that our food was being plated and should be out within minutes. 90 minutes after ordering, our entrees came out, and the surf and turf was stone cold. I hated to send it back because I would actually wanted to eat dinner sometime before breakfast, but I didn't feel like eating cold grilled meat with congealed mushroom and onion glaze. Another 30 minutes later, I finally received my food, long after the other members of my family had finished their meals. Sadly, we observed the same occurrence happening to another couple with a child seated at the table next to us and saw our poor server making the rounds to apologize to other tables nearby. Meanwhile, the additional condiments that my family members who did receive hot food had requested never arrived. Aside from that, if all you want is ice water, they have a plentiful, delicious supply of it, and the refills are very prompt and timely. The bread starter was a non-starter, and the halibut and chips had potential but when it arrived it looked like about half of the portion was missing."

If you have a car and/or are staying at the Seward Windsong Lodge, be sure to plan a meal at the Resurrection Roadhouse. In 2022, it was open for breakfast and dinner only, so be sure to check the hours before you plan a meal here if you’re visiting in a future season. Resurrection Roadhouse is a really solid spot for comfort foods; I tried the ricotta on sourdough and the smoked salmon crostini as appetizers, followed by the pulled pork sandwich for dinner.
