From Tlaquepaque, I settled into my nearby Airbnb, changed out of my hiking clothes and headed to Mariposa, a highly-recommended restaurant, if not for the grub, then absolutely for the stunning views of Sedona’s red rocks. However, dark clouds had overtaken the sky and the rain was pounding so I did not anticipate seeing views - I went solely for the food. Despite the weather, the restaurant was bustling, but being a party of one, I slipped into one of the remaining few seats at the bar.

I highly recommend reservations for some of the most popular places like Mariposa (only available by reservation) and my personal favorite, Mesa Grill. For other options be prepared for a wait if you go at peek times on a weekend or during high tourist seasons (spring and fall). Sedona is well known for limited parking and tight spaced restaurants, so just be prepared for both during your trip.

If you are looking for a higher-end restaurant with a view, then Mariposa is your go-to spot. The stunning view from Mariposa is worth the stop, but the food is supposed to be amazing too.

This is a Latin-inspired grill with bold flavors and creative dishes in an upscale ambiance. The views of Sedona are stunning as well making this dining experience really special.

I’ve heard great things about Mariposa & The Cowboy Club but can’t personally vouch as we didn’t go to either of them. I will definitely be trying out those spots once I return.
