What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Elote Cafe is celebrated for its inventive and delicious Mexican cuisine, particularly its signature elote dip and hearty main courses like smoked brisket enchiladas. While the food consistently receives high praise for its unique flavors and quality ingredients, some diners note that the restaurant is pricey and that reservations are absolutely essential due to its immense popularity. The ambiance is noted as nice, though some find the interior decor a bit dated.
"What a culinary experience! Wish we would have ordered two apps and one entree, because we were stuffed to the brim by the time we salivated over our chocolate pie. The elote Romain Caesar was so sensual, followed by the smoked brisket enchiladas and bison short ribs. The smoked brisket is a MUST. Our waiter was amazing. Come hungry and leave with a long lasting food orgasm."

"This place was recommended by our Mexican Ubee driver in Phoenix. He said if we only do one thing in Sedona, we had to visit his favorite place, so we did! We had the Elote, which was absolutely delicious l. I probably could have just done a bowl of it for dinner and had been satisfied. Pork tacos were also great. We were also happy that we got a large number of chips right as we sat down and the salsa that came with it was also really tasty. Shrimp and pork belly were good, but the dish was more quality over quantity 3-4 large shrimp and 3-4 pieces of pork with some sauce. If it weren't for our appetizers and chips, we probably would have still been hungry. Wonderful fancy place, great for a quality Mexican meal, but it's not cheap. Would definitely go again to try other things the next time we are in Sedona.
Oh one last thing, you're going to want to make a reservation way in advance. They only open 5-9pm. We got there right at 5 without a reservation and was given a table with a stipulation we had to be out by 630 because our table was reserved at that time. That worked great for us because didn't want a long dinner. We ordered, ate, paid and was back on the road by 6pm. Service was very fast."

"It wasn’t as delicious as I expected. Both the reviews on rednote and Google seemed a bit exaggerated. Maybe the high ratings raised my expectations too much, so the actual experience fell a bit short. The restaurant’s overall decor felt outdated, and the service staff weren’t very enthusiastic — just very basic service. As for the food, it was okay. This was my first time trying Mexican cuisine. Their pork belly taco was quite good, and the signature dish elote was tasty. However, the main dishes — the pork neck and lamb — were pretty average. The dessert was quite good and had a unique, refreshing twist."
