What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Situ Tacos offers a unique Mexican-Lebanese fusion, with many praising the creative fillings like garlic mashed potatoes and spicy cauliflower in their deep-fried tacos. The vegan options and the cozy atmosphere, especially the patio, are also highlights. However, some diners found the tacos to be overly greasy and the pricing, including mandatory tips for self-service, to be off-putting.
"I really enjoyed situ tacos and will definitely be back! At first I got the nachos, which I enjoyed on the adorable patio, but I ended up getting tacos to go because I just had to try them! They are unique to a lot of tacos in Seattle, and I really enjoyed the flavors and crunchy texture of the tortillas. I also got some delicious vegan tacos for my partner! Definitely give this place a visit!"

"I wasn't impressed. The deep-fried tacos were overly greasy, and the filling lacked flavor. Compared to a traditional taco with well-seasoned grilled meat, fresh toppings like veggies, sour cream, and avocado, this just didn't measure up.
On top of that, the pricing felt off-an 18% minimum suggested tip for a self-service setup and an extra $1 fee for takeout didn't sit well with me. Overall, not a place l'd return to when there are much better taco options out there."

"I walk past Lupe Situ taco’s almost daily, so I finally made a quick pit stop for their happy hour. The deal: two tacos and a beer for $9. That’s what I ordered, and I made sure to mention I wanted that specific offer. Yet somehow, my bill came out to $12.
I suspect the deal applies to a pony Modelo, but I was served a regular one. The bartender insisted all beers were on happy hour pricing, which—okay, fine—but just give me what’s on the menu. Whatever the deal is, stick to it.
As for the tacos, they were fried—something I wasn’t expecting. I tried both the potato and beef. The potato taco? Absolute perfection—great texture, full of flavor, just delicious. The beef one, though? Dry. And while the salsa packed plenty of heat, it didn’t do much to help with the dryness. If you love spice, it might work, but for me, it was tough to enjoy.
That said, the vibe was super cute, and the staff was friendly. They also have an outdoor patio, which seems like a great spot when the weather’s nice."

The 19 Best Vegetarian Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle
The menu at this Mexican-Lebanese counter spot focuses on deep-fried, corn tortilla-wrapped stuff, and the meatless dishes are coincidentally the best. Case in point: taquitos piped with garlicky mashed potatoes, a spicy roasted cauliflower and chickpea filling for crispy tacos, and a spectacular tray of nachos featuring melty pinto beans that could stop time. And the restaurant's sole non-fried option—a short rotating lineup of often-vegetarian soups—is an outstanding side that complements all that crunch.
Where to Get Soup in Seattle
Local drummer Lupe Flores' pop-up Situ Tacos, which launched early on in the pandemic and is now open seven days a week inside Jupiter Bar Like List in Belltown, may be best known for its Lebanese-inspired tacos, but her soups are worthy of praise in their own right. (As Lupe herself proclaims, "Don't sleep on my soups. People travel far and wide for them. Really.") Options include her crowd-favorite Lebanese vegetable stew, made with cauliflower, chickpeas, carrots, and celery and topped with Greek yogurt and parsley, and a soup and slaw combo, featuring 12 oz of a rotating soup of the week special and 8 oz of spicy Mexican slaw. Past soups have included chicken tortilla, pozole, veggie chili, fideo, lentil stew, and more—don't miss it.
15 Best Seattle Restaurants
When the pandemic forced drummer Lupe Flores to cancel her shows, she found a new way to entertain audiences: by making them tacos like the ones her Lebanese Mexican grandmother cooked for her as a kid. Fastened shut with toothpicks, the crisp, fried tacos come filled with brown butter beef, garlic mashed potatoes, or harissa cauliflower and cilantro chickpeas. Place your order at the counter, then head to the oilcloth-covered tables, or grab a spot at Tilda’s Bar in the back to wash them down with a “sad girl shot” (el Jimador with a side of Tillamook cheese).
Seattle’s best new restaurants, bars and pop-ups of 2021
After a year of popping up around town, this unique taqueria settled into the front bar at Belltown’s Jupiter Bar, giving Seattleites consistent access to the uniquely crunchy tacos of owner Lupe Flores’s Lebanese-Mexican childhood. The brown-butter hushwe-style meat and creamy garlic mashed potato fillings stand up to the hard fry of the folded and rolled tacos, the latter of which get even better when dipped in an order of hatch green chile queso blanco. This is bar food at its best, and thankfully in an at least semi-permanent home.
Seattle’s Best New Restaurants of 2024
Lupe Flores serves up her signature Lebanese-spiced beef, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, and herby cauliflower in crunchy tacos with the same flair with which she played drums—her pre-Covid career. The tacos are pinned together with toothpicks and dunked in the fryer to a crispy and delightfully greasy end. Flores’s rotating cast of comforting soups, such as spicy chicken tortilla or vegan seven-spice Lebanese lentil, round out the short menu.

I don’t normally rave about a brand-new thing, much less put it on a best kinda anything list, until it’s had a sec to find its stride. But I’m making an exception for Situ Tacos, because damn, Chef (and badass rock drummer!) Lupe Flores and her team have really hit the ground running. It’s no mystery why.
