What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lark is celebrated for its exceptional service and inviting ambiance, creating a refined yet relaxed dining atmosphere. While many find the food beautifully presented and delicious, some reviews suggest certain dishes may be a bit bland or overpriced for the perceived value. Standout items include oysters, crudo, and desserts, though a few diners have found specific dishes or the overall flavor profile to be less impactful than anticipated for the price point. The cocktail program and wine selection are consistently praised.
"Absolutely phenomenal! Everyone on staff made us feel like we were family and the food was mind-glowingly delicious. Tessa was our server and made us consider moving to seattle just so we could hang out with her. This place is AWESOME!"

"We tried out Lark with friends on a drizzly Monday morning and had a nice experience. The atmosphere inside is inviting and well decorated with plenty of space and a cool bar. The menu is New American fare with an optional 4 course meal as well. Service was fast and congenial throughout and had helpful suggestions. The dishes we received were all tasty, but I did leave thinking they were a tad bland/safe - especially for the price. For example I found the elk steak uninteresting which was unfortunate based on the description/cost. I would come back, but I'd probably order different main entrees next time."

"We recently tried Lark, knowing it was on the more upscale (and pricier) side. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance made a statement—elegant, with those beautiful high ceilings that give the space a grand, almost imposing vibe. The service was absolutely excellent; we felt very well taken care of.
Cocktails were solid, and the food was well-executed and enjoyable overall. That said, while everything was good, nothing really wowed us to the point of justifying the steep prices. It’s definitely a nice experience if you're going for the atmosphere and top-notch service, but for the food alone doesn't match the price. I don't mind paying a lot when the quality, creativity and flavors are on point but this one just tasted ok.
I love pavlova and also had to say that was the most disappointing pavlova I've ever tasted. Maybe skip dessert and stick more with cocktails."

Seattle's James Beard–Winning Restaurants
John Sundstrom ( Best Chef Northwest 2007) relocated his fanatically beloved Lark to the warehousey flank of Pike/Pine off Madison, spinning out a starlit space—indigo banquettes, white linens, a welkin of pendants overhead—as elegant as any in town. Out of the rafters he carved a casual bar, Bitter/Raw, offering charcuterie and crudo along with plenty of bitter cocktails. But Lark, once the upstart that pioneered small-plate dining, has become the noble elder; grownups come here for that disappearing species—relaxing high-end dinners—assembled either from small plates or a combination of mains and Sundstrom’s famous grains.
