What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
FamilyFriend is lauded for its unique Lao-Guamanian fusion cuisine and vibrant flavors, with the smash burger and corn soup being standout dishes. Diners appreciate the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, though some find the prices a bit high for the portion sizes. While many rave about the inventive dishes, a few note that certain items can be overly salty or dry.
"Came here for a friends birthday. I was able to get in on the first seating. Grateful as the line was a little long at entry. Sat in a nice booth. It was a cozy environment with a very friendly staff. They are all so so nice. Had corn soup, tofu bowl, chicken plate, burger and chicken tacos. Everyone loved their meal. My only regret was not adding any side sauces. I totally overlooked them when ordering. I think the server should ask if you want any sauces? I oils have totally tried them. I wanted my tacos to have a little kick but they had no spice. It was a sweet night."

"I’m glad we got a chance to try FF. Been in queue for a while! As we arrived, GPS was a bit misleading but it’s right in front and we pulled into the driveway parked on the side.
Overall we had a good meal with the burger being our favorite. Cozy neighborhood place with anime playing and good service.
Burger. Yummy however we had just as good for less $, understandable this is Seattle. Truffle fries crispy and love the truffle oil. Would prefer a little thicker also enjoy the moist potatoes. Or for the cost, with sweet potato.
La Beacon. Nice try but just didn’t work for us. Should be more broth, and condiments/herbs/veges so underwhelming. Our palate is just use to the different originals and this didn’t pulled it together for us.
Fried chicken. I was expecting fried chicken but it’s battered chicken breast and similar to chicken fried steak w/o gravy. It was a bit dry eating with the rice. Mac salad, got used to the sweeter mayo flavor. I’m not sophisticated for this style.
Donut. Sounds great on paper but dense, like mochi, had a bit undercook tastes and the champagne/mango is not sweet, a bit more sour. Just didn’t elevate from the Chinese fried donut with condense milk for us. Just had some today, so simple and delicious.
Note on my rating system: Sharing this as I believe many might assume a 3-star review indicates a negative experience.
5 stars: Exceptional! Outstanding food, service, and/or experience—well worth traveling for. (For example, we often drive from San Antonio to Austin just for Uchi.)
4 stars: Surpasses expectations in terms of food, service, and/or ambiance.
3 stars: Solidly good or meets expectations. I would revisit any place rated 3 stars or higher.
2 stars: Falls below acceptable standards for food or service.
1 star: Best to avoid."

"Great place to get something casual as a burger and their amazing truffle oil fries or something more fancy like their chicken plate and drinks. Great service, wonderful vibes. A bit pricey for what it is, the burger is like a premium Dick’s burger. Their fries were the most memorable. Their banana bread was lovely. I’d come back!"

The Secret Patios Of Seattle - Seattle
For this secret patio, you’ll need to walk so far back into this excellent Beacon Hill Guamanian restaurant that it almost feels like you should turn around and ask for directions. Just confidently keep going past the bathrooms, through the screen door, and you’ll spill right out onto the tree-lined patio with a handful of tables and booths. This shaded backyard oasis is perfect for sipping a refreshing white peach sonic while snacking on one of the best smashburgers in town.
Seattle’s Best New Restaurants of 2024
There’s only a single, barely visible sign marking this Beacon Hill restaurant and bar specializing in Guamanian food, part of owner Elmer Dulla’s effort to build a low-key neighborhood spot. When the pickle-packed smashburger and crisp, thin french fries went viral earlier in 2024, visiting tourists and camera-toting TikTokkers trampled all over that idea. But things have calmed down, making room on the shady back patio and in the pale pistachio booths of the small dining room, and giving regulars space to branch out to the foods that track Dulla’s personal history.
