The joint bears a closer resemblance to a Chipotle than it does to anything you’d typically think of as a “seafood shack,” but the customers keep coming back—and for good reason.

One look at that low country boil I scored for dinner in Cheap Eats Savannah reminds me of two things: Savannah Seafood Shack offers up a steal when it comes to the pricey world of seafood and my Cheap Eats Savannah escapades did not come so easy, cheap eaters. Savannah reminds me of Charleston in more than ways than one. It’s a gorgeous town that’s a postcard for the Antebellum South.

Enter Savannah Seafood Shack, an informal eatery that serves up southern-style seafood at a reasonable cost. The oyster po boys have been described as “scrumptious” at Savannah Seafood Shack, 116 E. Broughton St. This is an old-fashioned seafood restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere, friendly staff and succulent seafood. Those oysters po boys are served overstuffed on French bread with lettuce, tomatoes, garlic butter, mayo, and a creamy house sauce.

Fast-casual is a concept that is often associated with pizza, burgers, and subs. And heck even some Ch9inese food and Mexican food is served up in a fast/casual style all across America. However, Savannah Seafood Shack is the only place to serve up seafood, especially the Low Country Boil signature dish in a fast/casual style

The Savannah Seafood Shack on East Broughton Street is one of those places that brings people together through Southern cooking in a hands-on type of way. The menu ranges from appetizers to desserts and showcases lowcountry boil, a traditional dish known throughout the southern coast of the U.S., as their signature offering.

Savannah is right on the water, so fresh seafood is an integral part of the culinary lifestyle of local residents and visitors alike. Plus, you cannot go to Georgia without trying a famous ‘low country boil;’ a mix of sausage, crab, shrimp, potatoes, and corn. Savannah Seafood Shack serves one of the best around.

Savannah Seafood Shack wasn’t on my list but recommended by my guide on the Savannah Taste Experience Food Tour. I love fresh seafood and the famous Low Country boil loaded with shrimp, corn on the cob, premium beef sausage, and red potatoes was really good. Our tour guide also recommended the Seafood Cone too.

We’ve has seafood all over the U.S. and this is some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. We ordered almost everything on the menu and it did not disappoint. If you are heading to Savannah soon or looking for a kid-friendly place for your next family vacation, I hope that you give this sweet Southern spot a try!

If it’s seafood that you’re after then this is the spot for you. Their low country boil is a local favourite and absolutely delicious. It’s a yummy bag of shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn with a delicious Cajun seasoning.

It was actually time for real food, so we stopped in to Savannah Seafood Company because it had such high ratings online. Tiny little, order at the counter, hole in the wall. Grabbed a beer, and an oyster po’boy.

Downtown on bustling Broughton Street, it has the best shrimp tacos and Cajun fries. You get an order of three, topped with fresh slaw and a crazy-good house sauce.
