Although pies—key lime, egg custard, banana cream, peanut butter, strawberry rhubarb, and others—are the main event, other dishes are tasty, too, including such daily specials as goulash, chicken and dumplings, and pulled smoked pork. For breakfast, choose from French toast stuffed with cream cheese (or Oreos) or a hearty stack of pancakes.

Like Der Dutchman, we have enjoyed visiting Yoder’s Restaurant a few times for dinner, but especially for their famous Peanut Butter Pie. Logan’s grandma loved this pie so much over the years that she coaxed the ingredients out of them and perfected it herself.

For down-home comfort food, there is no better option than Yoder’s Restaurant & Amish Village. In the 1970s, Levi and Amanda Yoder sold their Indiana farm to move to Sarasota. That move started the Sarasota tradition of dining at the beloved Yoder’s Restaurant.

If you're down in the Sarasota area, there are a handful of Amish restaurants that don't exactly fry chicken "southern" style, but they do make very, very good fried chicken. Yoders and Der Dutchman come to mind (as I've eaten at both in the last week!).
