Reviews Summary

Dudley Market is celebrated for its exceptional burgers and fresh, seasonal seafood, all served in a vibrant Venice atmosphere. While many praise the quality of ingredients and the lively ambiance, some diners note slow service and high prices, with a few experiencing less-than-friendly interactions with staff. The wine selection is also a frequent highlight.

"We came here for the burger and it is absolutely the best in west LA. The atmosphere is hip and stylish but very loud because the tables are super close. The bar table is too narrow and small almost impossible to not keep tapping others elbows. The service is slow and chaotic. We saw one of the server dropped the food on the floor. Wine is okay and other seafood options are fine - tbh the portions could be bigger when it comes to thinking about the price. But the burger. The best."

"I ate here about two weeks ago and provided this feedback directly to the restaurant. Having not heard back:

The food is good. Very good even, in the way that a fair number of LA restaurants are very good: great produce, great dish, the burger worth the hype. Good vibe; there was a wait but easy enough to enjoy a bottle of wine while we did.

I would not return because of how rude the hostess was. We had bought a bottle of sparkling water while we were waiting, which an employee very kindly carried over to our table when it was available.

Right after that, the hostess swept in, reached in to grab the bottle of water, and said “I’m going to have to take this.”

We (a table of four), looked up confused and one of us asked why.

“You didn’t buy it here,” and begins to take it away.

We laughed awkwardly and uncomfortably and said that we had bought it there.

She paused, “… did you? Seriously?” Eye brow cocked, disbelieving.

We said yes again and she rolled her eyes, let go of the bottle, and walked away.

It was so bizarre, rude, and condescending."

"Had the absolute best time here last night! So pleased. Chef brought out some sugar snap peas that were crunchy, tasty, and thoughtful for a hungry party! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! Fish sandwich 10/10, mussels 10/10, great for vegetarian, pescatarian, or pregnant like myself so shopping for raw & cooked options for everyone at the table! The “local spot” ambiance is unbeatable, felt like home. Thank you for the service!"

The 16 Best Seafood Restaurants In LA - Los Angeles

Not only does Dudley Market serve some of our favorite seafood dishes in Los Angeles, this overachieving neighborhood spot also has a fantastic location one block off the Venice boardwalk— just far enough from the vaping rollerbladers and tourists commissioning airbrushed t-shirts. If eating silky crudos, fish tacos, or tom kha clams while gazing at the sunset isn’t on your Things I Enjoy In Life list, we have serious questions. Stick around after dark for vinyl DJs and tall glasses of whatever mineral-forward white the surfer sommelier is loving this month.

24 Best Seafood Restaurants in Los Angeles For Oysters and More

If you think the Venice Boardwalk is a living nightmare, then you’ll be surprised that this seafood-oriented gem exists just steps away from it. With string lights up and a dimly lit dining room, Dudley Market is like the Westside version of Virgil Village’s Melody: a stylish, low-key spot with natural wine, freshly shucked oysters and plenty of well-dressed patrons. Unlike the Silver Lake-adjacent wine bar, however, the day-to-day menu focuses on sustainable seafood and bar bites, including delicious crudos and fish tacos.

Best Seafood Restaurants in LA: Enjoy Sushi, Poke, and More

If you picture the au-courant fish house in your mind, the sort of place where a recent transplant would take a skeptical visitor to say, “See, LA isn’t so bad,” you’d end up with something very much like Dudley Market. So there are tinned conservas and natural wine, wild-caught fish by the pound to take home, a menu that changes too much to be listed online but always includes a fresh crudo, dim lighting, and a thumping soundtrack and extremely cool merch. But don’t be intimidated by the obvious hipness.
