Reviews Summary

Dolina Bakery & Cafe garners praise for its inventive fusion of Hungarian and New Mexican flavors, with standout dishes like the chicken schnitzel and breakfast burritos. Diners also rave about the delicious pastries and a cozy atmosphere. However, a frequent point of contention is the extremely limited and challenging parking situation.

"We got here before 11am on a Thursday morning and the place was already packed! Ordered Baked Eggs and Breakfast Burrito and they were both very savoury! Would definitely recommend breakfast burrito! They also have amazing coffee, I had one of the best oat latte here ! Give it a try and you won’t regret it ! Last but not least, the almond croissant was amazing too!"

"This place made me sad I don’t live in Santa Fe. I saw this on the James Beard nominee list and honestly think they deserve all the awards.

The salmon tartine with greens salad was one of the best lunches I’ve had ever. Yes. Ever. I would eat that twice a week if I lived here.

DO NOT SLEEP ON THE LEMONADE! It was so refreshing. One of the best I’ve ever had.

My mom and boyfriend split a chicken Caesar salad with chicken and avocado toast which they loved. Both agreed even though an avocado toast is simple, this one was perfectly prepared and seasoned.

We loved our lunch so much we went back for breakfast before we headed home to Texas. I wish they’d open one in Houston.

My mom also commented how clean the place is. It’s rare to find restaurants where you can smell how well kept it is. This place is spotless. The bathrooms are always well taken care of.

I will be back. And take home another 3 bags of treats. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽"

"Wow! What a cute little place! We stopped in on a Sunday morning and got a table right away (it was about 10 am). It was hopping and the vibe is super great! I loved the decor and everyone working was so friendly!
We ordered the Slovakian fried bread with tomatoes, arugula and burrata. It was delicious! We also split a chocolate croissant (also delicious). The meal was hearty so we thought it was perfect to split-we left completely satisfied. We will definitely visit this spot again-everything on the menu sounded delicious. Again-friendly service, great prices and delicious food. It reminded me of some of the small cafes we visited in Spain-homey, friendly and fresh food."

16 Best Restaurants in Sante Fe, From Homey Southwestern Cuisine to Fine Dining

Annamaria Brezna O’Brien serves Eastern European dishes infused with New Mexican flare at this buzzy brunch spot. Within walking distance of the Santa Fe Plaza, yet peacefully out of the fray, Dolina ladles hearty flavors from Brezna O’Brien’s native Slovakia, such as the morning soup (with rich lamb bone broth, wild rice, caramelized onion, and a poached egg) and the Orechovník French toast, which begins with a base of house made walnut and cinnamon bread, and is topped with warm fruit. The interior feels like a country house—a fitting feel for a restaurant with a dedicated farm for its produce.

The 15 Best Restaurants In Santa Fe - Santa Fe

The team at this North Guadalupe bakery deserves an award for cracking the science behind baking at high altitudes. Their jam-packed display case can be overwhelming, so here are the priorities: almond croissants that are always perfectly laminated and crisp, flaky strudel with tangy insides like poppy seed cherry, and soft gingerbread that pairs well with a latte. There’s sit-down service and a good amount of space for a casual brunch over omelets and salmon tartine, but keep in mind the parking lot is tiny.

Slovakian transplant Annamaria O’Brien's bustling bakery and brunch spot is as bright and crisp as her food. The menu borrows a bit from the chef's Eastern European roots with favorites such as paprikash, langos, and goulash, but also features regional American dishes like cornmeal waffles with buttermilk fried chicken and a surprising bone broth "morning soup." The quiche of the day is always delicious. Nearly everything served at Dolina was either grown on the Dolina farm or sourced as locally as possible.

The 15 Best Places To Eat And Drink In Santa Fe In 2023

In a pleasantly surprising plot twist, Santa Fe is low-key a hub for some of the best Hungarian pastries, dishes, and desserts in the country. It's all courtesy of Dolina Cafe & Bakery, a charming farm-to-table love letter from owner Annamaria Brezna, who bakes up traditional dishes from her Hungarian homeland, like makos dios, a poppy seed and walnut cake with raspberry preserves, serving them in a cozy, convivial cafe a stone's throw from historic downtown Santa Fe. Many ingredients hail from a local farm, all used to marry New Mexican traditions with Eastern European inspirations.
