Reviews Summary

Filippi's Pizza Grotto is celebrated for its classic Italian comfort food, generous portions, and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a long-standing favorite. Diners often rave about the delicious pizzas and unique dishes, appreciating the good value for money. However, some find certain dishes to be average or bland, and the restaurant can get quite busy, leading to potential waits.

"This place is wonderful — it’s our second time coming back!

The portions are absolutely huge. One salad, one pizza, and two pastas were more than enough for four people.

The wine was excellent, and the whole experience felt cozy and relaxed. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive.

Our total was $120, which I think is amazing for the quality and amount of food. Definitely recommend!"

Kseniia Garshina

"To start with, it’s a really good place. The ambience is great. The vibe is fantastic. Because we ordered vegetarian menu, we got one vegetarian special pizza which had mushrooms, olives, cheese tomatoes. It was good pizza, but it was bland so we added a lot of chilies, cheese, and black pepper on top of it, other thing that we took was pasta, which was also vegetarian, which was better if you really like Italian food, then it might be a good place for you. For me It was just average could have been better."

Divya Choudhary

"We were visiting the area and we love good Italian food. We happen to find this place by chance and were exceedingly surprised and thrilled by their cheese ravioli. So we decided it was worth a sit down meal. My wife and I were absolutely blown away by everything. From their service, to their delicious food and their more than reasonable prices and generous serving sizes. Absolutely delicious and anytime we are back in SD. We will be coming back to this amazing hole in the wall restaurant."
