What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Born and Raised is lauded for its stunning Art Deco ambiance and opulent decor, creating a glamorous atmosphere often compared to the Gatsby era. Diners rave about the high-quality steaks, particularly the dry-aged bone-in ribeye, and unique dishes like the Uni Spaghetti. While the food and drinks are generally praised, some find the potato au gratin too salty and the restaurant extremely dark. Service is often highlighted as exceptional, though a few reviews mention minor inconsistencies.
"When you come here, you absolutely must order the steak, but I highly recommend trying the hash brown. It is far exceeded my expectations. Additionally, I think the carrot cake is a standout. As someone who isn’t usually a fan of carrot cake, I found that following the staff’s recommendation was definitely the right choice this time. The cake is fluffy and the cream’s sweet-tart balance is perfectly executed. Even though I was already quite full, I couldn’t bear to leave it behind and ended up taking some home to enjoy slowly later."

"We came to Born and Raised for my husband’s birthday and had another amazing experience. The dry-aged bone-in ribeye was cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare plus) and had incredible flavor. We shared baked mac & cheese, dirty hashbrowns, potato au gratin, marrow with escargot, and everything was rich and satisfying—though the au gratin was saltier than usual.
Drinks were excellent—French 75 was refreshing, the mojito was spot-on, and the espresso martini was strong but enjoyable. Service was outstanding, and the birthday macaron at the end was a thoughtful touch.
This isn’t our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. Four stars for now, with full confidence they’ll earn a five next time."
Kristina Parker (Mrs. Parker)
"Born and Raised is definitely a super aesthetic restaurant. We ordered the bone marrow with escargot, uni pasta, mac and cheese, and a bone-in ribeye. The dishes were good, but nothing particularly memorable. The bone marrow portion was quite small compared to other places, and the steak could’ve used more seasoning or even a sauce—it leaned a bit bland. The standout for me was the uni pasta, which I really enjoyed.
For dessert, we had something similar to a baked Alaska with lavender ice cream and earl grey cake. It was creative but overly sweet—I think a tart or fruity element would’ve helped balance it.
The restaurant is also EXTREMELY dark.
Parking is tough in the area, though there are some men in the area who do charge $20 valet."
