Reviews Summary
Brasserie Mon Chou Chou is lauded for its authentic Parisian ambiance and exceptional French comfort food, with standouts like the raclette and French onion soup. While many praise the sophisticated atmosphere and attentive service, some reviews note that the service can be inconsistent, and the price point is considered a bit high for the overall experience.
"Brasserie Mon Chou Chou is a true treasure at The Pearl! The atmosphere is absolutely stunning—chic, inviting, and full of that classic French charm. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel like you’ve escaped to Paris for the evening.
Now, the French onion soup? Next level. Deep, rich flavor with perfectly caramelized onions and that golden, gooey cheese topping—truly the best I’ve ever had. And the bone marrow is nothing short of phenomenal. It’s melt-in-your-mouth delicious and beautifully presented. No surprise it’s a fan favorite!
From the service to the ambiance to the unforgettable dishes, Mon Chou Chou delivers an exceptional dining experience every single time. An absolute must-visit in San Antonio!"

"We came here very early in the evening, before a normal dinner time. The plan was to sit at the bar and have the raclette and escargot, then leave.
These two items were so good, the drinks so good, the atmosphere so good, we decided to order more.
This was my first time trying steak frites and it was excellent. Oysters were delicious and served correctly, with the brine still in the shell. The scallops were amazing.
I'd come here often, if I lived in the area, just for the raclette and escargot. I think they were the highlight.
Overall, this is probably the best restaurant I visited in San Antonio, and I will make it a point to come back the next time I'm in the area."

"I took my boyfriend for his birthday brunch. The restaurant was pretty quiet and able to seat us right away when we arrived. Our server was kind and attentive. The steak my boyfriend got was overcooked, which the management was quick to correct and even brought us a complimentary glass of bubbles to enjoy. The level of service is always great. The food is good, but price range is a bit high for what it is."

50 best restaurants in San Antonio, Texas, for 2025
Already one of the city’s best French restaurants with steak frites, lobster bisque, housemade pâté and a tableside raclette sandwich, Mon Chou Chou recently fortified its French menu with foie gras, a leek salad with mussels and a skate wing entree determined to introduce San Antonians to one of the sea’s best-kept secrets. But a French-led team that already includes Philippe Placé and Jérôme Sérot up front and chef Laurent Réa in the kitchen did something equally invigorating: They added fellow Frenchman Fabien Jacob as Mon Chou Chou’s general manager. Jacob, a veteran of Bohanan’s and more recently the student-run restaurant Savor at the Culinary Institiute of America, is one of San Antonio’s best sommeliers and hospitality pros.

Brasserie Mon Chou Chou’s take on classic French dining is both contemporary and commendable | San Antonio
The Pearl’s recent culinary acquisition has taken over the space once operated by the CIA’s Nao and erased every trace of its existence. Gone are the open training kitchen and the woodsy dropped ceiling, now replaced by brassy light fixtures, black chairs and tabletops, comfortable brown banquettes and a new mosaic floor. The young waitstaff is black-aproned — though they might call you “boss” instead of studiously ignoring you in the French manner — and the serving pieces are emblazoned with Chou Chou’s name in the manner of the classic Brasserie Lipp.
