Main St.) displays its selection of whiskeys on dark wood shelves behind the main bar with some bottles being so pricey that they are locked away in display cabinets. The whole feel of the narrow space is Western saloon meets 21st-century urban oasis. Brigham Young nicknamed this stretch “Whiskey Street” for the numerous bars and a liquor store in the area. (It became Main Street in 1906.) Whiskey Street Cocktails & Dining keeps that legacy going strong with a 2,200-plus collection of spirits, 400 of which are whiskeys. Whiskey Street is a vintage-chic bar on Main Street (don’t forget your ID) with unique lounge booths, American bites, and is no doubt one of the best late night restaurants in Salt Lake City. Plus their food is surprisingly satisfying, too.

Lastly, not by no means leastly, this first proper bar and restaurant effort from the Bourbon team. the bar features Utah’s largest selection of whiskey and is backed up by a solid food menu. Think bar classics like burgers, salads, meatloaf and more – but taken up a few notches.

Before it was Main Street, this road was dubbed “Whiskey Street” because it was lined with bars. Anchored by a 42-foot long cherry wood bar backed with bottles and centered with a stand-up table, Whiskey Street serves food but is mainly a place to bend the elbow.

There is a cool block on Main St with a few mice bars/restaurants: white horse, whiskey street, london belle, bodega. Edison Alley behind Copper Onion has a few cool spots. Some cool distilleries in the Valley: beehive and dented brick.

Imagine our surprise when we encountered this 42-foot long cherry wood bar wall with 2,300 bottles of booze on our first stop -- a gastrobar named Whiskey Street. We knew we were going to have a good visit.
