I recently had the pleasure of experiencing brunch at The Rose Establishment in Salt Lake City. My initial impression was positive, given the modern, open, and relaxed ambiance of the eatery, and the choice of both indoor and outdoor seating options was definitely a plus. The staff here truly shines, displaying both knowledge and a clear enjoyment for what they do which created an overall low-stress environment, something you don't typically find in the food industry.

A soul-stirring fixture of the historic Pierpont warehouse district, The Rose Establishment resides within a restored and beautifully renovated brick structure originally built by the Cudahy Packing Company in 1918. Pull up an artisan chair and make yourself at home, the white tile walls highlight enchanting aesthetics like the wooden trim and floorboards, hints of greenery, and wonderfully presented seasonal brunch dishes, toasts, and pastries.

There are warm smells of fresh baked goods, fresh coffee in French presses, coffee being ground for espresso, milk being steamed, a wall of quality teas, and people everywhere. I love The Rose Establishment not only for the coffee, but for the coffee shop atmosphere, an industrial-meets-classic diner feel. I asked the owner, Erica O’Brien, what the baristas recommend to drink or eat, basically what’s good there, and I loved her honest answer.

The Rose Establishment serves some of the best brunch in downtown Salt Lake City, especially if you’re looking for something a bit on the lighter side. The space originated as a meat packing plant, and had a lot of lives since then, serving as a restaurant, plant shop, and even a personal residence before it’s current reincarnation.

One of my favorite boutiques is Atelier, a storefront to over twenty independent artists who sell clothes, jewelry, pottery and salts.

The Rose Establishment: It’s small and nondescript, and that’s precisely what we love about this out-of-the-way spot for sipping coffee. Great for summer mornings—it’s situated on the west side of the building, so it stays cool for some time. Plus, we’ve got a soft spot for establishments that take advantage of vintage tables and mismatched chairs.

Coffee Garden, Campos Coffee Roasters & Kitchen, and The Rose Establishment are all places I’ve been to that have some gluten-free offerings. Tea Zaanti is an amazing tea shop downtown with a cozy atmosphere, along with outdoor seating. Sugar House Coffee provides brews and juice drinks, so you can get your healthy juicing on while visiting here.

They facilitate local art, local food and beverage vendors, and serve as warm and quiet places for people to work, collaborate, and gather. However, the social aspect has lessoned as coffee shops have more and more evolved into places of work.

Sourcing local, eco-friendly ingredients and utilizing those that are in season, The Rose Establishment is a breakfast spot in Salt Lake City that's all about people and the planet. It even has its own herbs and edible flowers on the rooftop, right next to the beehive that provides the restaurant’s honey.

I decided to try out a breakfast place called The Rose Establishment, when I got there it was about a 45 minute wait which worked out perfectly. I decided to see what was close by and found loads of cool street art at The Gateway mall. Breakfast was delicious, a sweet potato hash with eggs.

The Rose Establishment offers more than just creative foodstuffs, coffee and alcoholic bevs. Depending on who's staffed up, the music is always in interesting rotation. Former manager Cody Kirkland recalls a range of Yo La Tengo to LCD Soundsystem to Carly Rae Jepson to Kendrick Lamar.

Over the last few years, the Rose Establishment has become the place to be for Salt Lake’s hipsters and twenty-somethings. Taking over the space of an old soup cafe, the Rose completely transformed the space. In the beginning, only a few types of coffee and pastries were served.

The Rose Establishment serves San Francisco's Four Barrel coffee and they have very well-trained baristas and a knowledgable staff. There's another cool, tiny shop called Caffè D'Bolla. Their branding is out of line with what's hip, and that almost makes it cooler.

The Rose Establishment doesn’t feel like Utah’s typical brunch spot. However, that is exactly what makes it worth your while. This is a place where your coffee is brewed to order, and French-inspired breakfast dishes take on local, diverse flavors.

The Rose Establishment is a Salt Lake City gem known for their hip vibes and homemade cashew milk. While their coffee is out of this world, so is their tea. Don’t leave without trying their London Fog made with cream earl grey, lavender and milk.

The Rose has a coffee program that may be one of my favorites in Salt Lake. But they also boast a serious in-house pastry operation. For those of you like myself who can’t imagine your morning Joe without a treat, this needs to be your mainstay.

I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences at The Rose Establishment. Their pastry and food selections are exciting and memorable as is their coffee. The attention to detail by their excellent baristas is always amazing and appreciated.
