Best Overall: Pretty Bird (Multiple locations, prettybirdchicken.com): Anyone who has visited Chef Viet Pham's love letter to Nashville Hot Chicken will agree with me on this one, so it might not be the biggest surprise on the list. I've thought long and hard about what sets Pretty Bird apart, and I think it comes down to balance. Chef Pham's experience in the fine-dining scene definitely has something to do with this, but the fried chicken itself packs such a flavorful punch that it doesn't really need any explanation.

Chef Viet Pham, a celebrated fine dining pro featured in TV shows like Beat Bobby Flay and Iron Chef America, is also the pack leader at Pretty Bird. He is known for frequently changing things at the restaurant, including a limited menu featuring Mexican street corn salad, Nashville-style fried chicken sandwiches, cider slaw, and crinkle-cut fries. They also have tasty sauces like the buttermilk sauce, which goes well with most meals.

There is almost no competition regarding a good, juicy fried chicken sandwich from Pretty Bird Chicken – it’s a real hidden gem of Salt Lake City. If you like Chick-fil-A's chicken sandwich, you need to try Pretty Bird. You also get to choose the level of spiciness that they season the chicken.
