Reviews Summary

Diners rave about Sugarfire Smoke House for its exceptional brisket and flavorful ribs, complemented by creamy mac and cheese and unique BBQ sauces. While the food often hits the mark, some reviews mention inconsistent preparation, with occasional issues like overly fatty brisket or tough ribs. The atmosphere can be lively, but parking and finding the entrance can be a challenge for first-time visitors.

"For carnivores! Brisket , great sides ( green beans were outstanding blends of crunch and salty)

For omnivores and VEGETARIANS 👉🏻 mind blowing fried green tomato sandwich - perfectly executed- right balance of fried tomatoes, mayo, cheese , coke slaw - like winning the taste lottery for every bite!!!

Perfect place after a visit (or a show) at the National Blues Museum"

"ONE AND DONE!
We were very excited to try the bbq after reading the reviews. We wanted to sample a bit of everything since we're rarely in Saint Louis. We had the pork belly hush puppies with jalapeño jelly, spare ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and turkey. For our sides, we had the green beans, mac & cheese, french fries, and ooey gooey butter cake for dessert.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I just wish the food would have been at least decent.
Let's start with the hush puppies. They sounded interesting, but they were pretty boring. They didn't taste bad, just tasted pretty much like a hush puppy from long johns.

The ribs had a robbery texture to them and were pretty tough, but the flavor was decent.

The brisket was room temperature with very little fat and absolutely no bark. We asked for the fattiest possible

The burnt ends were the worst we've ever had. We love burnt ends, but these were not edible. The burnt ends were incredibly overcooked and so dry that we couldn't eat them.

The turkey was hot, moist, and tender. The only negative about the turkey is not much smoke flavor.

The green beans were ok but had chunks of tomato in them. I'm not a fan of tomato, but these were decent.

The French fries and Mac and cheese were the highlights of our meal. The fries were hot and crispy, the mac had the perfect amount of cheese and creaminess.

The gooey cake was thin and burnt. The part I could eat tasted good, but I'm a fat kid who loves dessert."

"It's a fun spot to stop for BBQ. My husband and I have been here a few times in our travels and I finally was able to take one of my kids here and he really enjoyed it. We had to find parking a couple blocks away but it was worth the walk. The sample of smoked turkey was really good but I have always enjoyed their pulled pork. They have an assortment of different BBQ sauces. There is a case of unique bottled sodas and their fountain soda is not the traditional Dr Pepper/ Pepsi/ or Coke products. They have amazing cornbread with honey butter too, if they haven't sold out. We usually get there in the fall when it's already dark but this time we came in the summer and the light coming through the building in the day made for a pleasant environment."
