At first, we were skeptical of the automated latte machine and the people lining up for it outside of this coffee shop. But the drinks here are genuinely good, especially the nutty, sweet iced latte that somehow has the aftertaste of a root beer float. It’s unsurprisingly better when you order from a human barista inside.

The first thing most visitors do on a beautiful Bentonville morning is head straight downtown to Onyx Coffee for one of their quirky coffee drinks, like the Oatfogato, and a tasty breakfast sandwich. Onyx Coffee is a high-end coffee shop and roaster that came recommended by a few friends, but I was immediately drawn to the Saturday farmers’ market happening in the town square. There were dozens of stalls and food trucks, two performers played live music, and patrons munched on fresh pastries they’d bought from one of the bakers.

For a quick caffeine fix, try Onyx Coffee Lab, a modern coffee shop that takes a meticulous approach to craft coffee. For a casual lunch or dinner, the kitschy Cajun restaurant, Flying Fish, offers up fried fare. Walking through town, visitors may find themselves wandering into Block Street Records vinyl shop where patrons can get lost in the bins, or to find the perfect classic read for a quiet evening in, head to Once Upon a Time Books.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art has a world-class collection of American art and stunning architecture, nestled in 134 acres of Ozark woods with over five miles of trails. The museum’s restaurant, Eleven, offers lunch service daily, and the Coffee Bar offers a selection of “grab-and-go” meals. The Museum Store offers a wide selection of unique gifts, works by regional artists, and art prints from the Crystal Bridges collection.

: Like the other Onyx locations, the interior of this spot is beautiful and it is the largest Onyx location where you can watch them working in the roastery and find all of the merchandise and coffee that they have available. Although the brunch menu is less robust, this is where you will find the full line of pastries from Doughp!. including their seasonal croissants like apple butter and other favorites like the homemade pop tarts.

Onyx Coffee House is a favorite among coffee enthusiasts in NWA. This shop is known for its high-quality beans and attention to detail, resulting in a delicious cup of coffee every time. They offer a variety of options, including pour over, espresso, and cold brew, and their skilled baristas are always happy to help you choose the perfect drink for your taste.

This downtown caffeine-pusher has a completely open concept because they want you to watch the baristas make your drinks. Rather than using the traditional roast level to describe their coffees, they categorize them on a scale of traditional to modern flavors. Traditional is sugar browning to dry distillation flavors, like chocolates, nuts, wines, tobacco.

Founded in Northwest Arkansas, Onyx is an internationally recognized coffee brand and local favorite. Onyx has two Bentonville locations, one located right on the Downtown Square and another inside the Momentary. Their Bentonville Square location, also known as “Bonyx,” welcomes community members and visitors alike to gather in its beautiful, modern space.

Every town MUST have a great coffee shop and Bentonville totally has that in Onyx Coffee Shop!. Featuring all types of coffees from pour over to French press and everything in between, Onyx Coffee Lab showcases innovation and excitement in “Not yo mama’s cup o’ Joe!. ” If you really love them, they also offer public and professional coffee classes.

For the chocolate lover, sweeten their day with chocolate from Onyx Coffee Lab (bonus points if you pair it with their favorite coffee.) Markham & Fitz is another local favorite for chocolates with a variety that will please any sweet tooth. To lift their spirits, you can get a local beer from Ozark Beer Co., or a craft cocktail kit from Foxtrail.

Onyx is not only a much loved community coffeehouse, it’s a great place to take out-of-town guests. Carefully sourced, locally roasted beans and highly trained baristas make this outstanding coffeehouse an instant favorite whether you’re a local or visitor to the area. Step up to the bar, place your order and wait for your name to be called.

The next morning, as I walk from the square toward Crystal Bridges after grabbing a latte at Onyx Coffee Lab, I pass the same spot where we started our adventure the day before, sorry to be on foot this time as bikers fly past. I notice a small sticker on the trailhead sign that I didn’t see yesterday: IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL BIKE.

The two Onyx locations in Bentonville are both unique in design and are worth stopping by just to experience the atmosphere. Expect to see plenty of people at the downtown location as it is the most popular. However, the second location in the Momentary Museum is arguably the coolest one as a conveyor belt brings you your coffee...

The Momentary houses an Onyx Coffee Lab, though it was temporarily closed during my trip. Luckily, I was able to visit another Onyx location down the street and had the best coffee of my life. I also paid a quick visit to 21c Museum Hotel to view their expansive contemporary art collection and enjoy a cocktail at The Hive.

Not only is my friend Matt from Campfire Coffee Bar great at what he does, he’s also an all-around amazing person. Back when I interviewed him about the BEST things to do in Fayetteville, he recommended Onyx Coffee Lab as one of the best places to get coffee in Northwest Arkansas even though he owns a coffee bar himself.

Now, the decision is whether to have Italian at Tavola Trattoria, calamari at the Flying Fish Seafood, breakfast at The Buttered Biscuit or to grab a consciously brewed cup of coffee at Onyx Coffee Lab. With more than 30 restaurants representing various cuisines, take comfort in knowing you have options; lots of them.

The grounds encompass many notable features, including Crystal Spring, which gives this museum its name; a glass-enclosed bridge; a restaurant, Eleven; a coffee bar featuring beans from local roastery Onyx Coffee Lab; a library containing more than 50,000 reference volumes; and about 5 miles of nature trails.

I scored some old-fashioned penny candy from the Walton 5 & 10, a sequin dress from LABEL, lots of unique spices and teas from The Spice & Tea Exchange and some macarons from Onyx Coffee Lab. There were several shops that I really wanted to check out and I can’t wait to return so I get a chance!

Onyx Coffee Lab is located in downtown Bentonville and the coffee shop vibes are on point!. They have a few different kinds of plant milk and several specialty drinks on their menu that are marked vegan. We had the hot chocolate with almond milk and the sporchata – both were absolutely perfect!

Start your day with breakfast and coffee from local favorite Onyx Coffee Lab. For a unique breakfast experience, head over to Louise – an all-day café in Thaden Fieldhouse so you can eat on the runway- watch planes take off or enjoy the lake views. Take advantage of their large patio and lawn.

A coffee shop with a touch of contemporary art can only be found in Arkansas. Who would’ve expected that a former cheese factory would look this good?. Wheeler Kearns Architects designed the Momentary as a companion community facility to the spectacular Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Onyx Coffee Lab - Cody had been wanting to visit Onyx Coffee for a while before visiting and it was even better than we expected!. We visited the smaller downtown Bentonville location and the larger Rogers HQ location. The decor, coffee aroma, and natural light all made it a 10/10 experience.

Onyx Coffee Lab: Enjoy an expertly crafted coffee creation at Onyx Coffee Lab. Their Onyx Delight with honey, cinnamon, and vanilla was hailed as one of the best espresso drinks my husband Phil has ever had. There’s also pastries and non-espresso drinks for the rest of the family.

A short drive over to Rogers is rewarded with funky grilled cheese sandwiches (Hammontree’s Grilled Cheese), an underground “gastrolounge” reminiscent of Wichita’s Public at the Brickyard (Levi’s Gastrolounge & Bar), and some of the finest espresso in the area (Onyx Coffee Lab).

Another Northwest Arkansas coffee staple is Onyx Coffee Lab!. The headquarters in Rogers, AR, features an open space with plenty of seating to converse and sip. The facility also houses a bakery, a taqueria, a mezcal bar, a small tasting restaurant, and a high-end cocktail bar.

Our headquarters houses our barista training facility, roasting and production facility, bakery, striking coffee bar, events space, offices and green storage. Open space with tons of seating enjoy coffee, conversation, and the sounds of a full fledge manufacturing facility.

Went here this past weekend after seeing a review that said that this was the BEST coffee experience that the reviewer had ever had. We put the address into the GPS and we were on our way. The inside looks really cool and expensive.

With several means to make coffee and pour beer if you’re feeling it. The service here is amazing and the coffee is even better. From the flavored raspberry coffee to the avocado toast, you’ll love this clean and modern coffee bar!

New since I was there, is ONYX Coffee Lab, a sleek coffee shop, at 100 Second St. #106. Also new is the 8th Street Market, a community focused food-hub with local restaurants, a brewery, food trucks and more.
