Reviews Summary

Brasserie Saint James is a well-loved brewpub in Reno, known for its award-winning craft beers and rustic, inviting atmosphere. While many praise the unique dishes like bone marrow canoes and the overall dining experience, some reviews mention inconsistent service and issues with specific menu items.

"We got the bone marrow canoes. I've never had bone marrow like this. It's was tasty. So buttery and warm and with the sweet bacon. It was delicious. We tried both soups. The French onion was so cheesy. The tomatoe soup was perfect with the toast. The ribeye was cooked to perfect medium. Overall very great experience."

"I’ve been going to the Brasserie for 13 years now, menu and business have seen changes through these many years. Some fort the good and some for the bad.

The food is still good but the menu is limited. I’m happy to see the addition of Mocktails and that the burger can be further modified with the side. The portobello fries were not too par during the most recent occasion.

The atmosphere seemed a bit dull for a Thursday night when people are typically out. The lace still looks great though. I do recommend eating here."

"Under new management, this rustic brasserie is a must-visit destination for food lovers and craft beer enthusiasts alike. Recently renovated, the space now features a stunning rooftop patio — perfect for enjoying their impressive micro brew selection while taking in the fresh air and views. Inside, old-world European comfort dishes and American classics are given new life, prepared with the same reverence as their beer. The warm, inviting ambiance and attentive service make it a standout choice for casual nights out or special gatherings.

We sampled an incredible spread, starting with bone marrow canoes that were silky, savory perfection, followed by crispy wings, golden fries, and artisan pizza fresh from the oven. The tacos were bursting with flavor, but the highlight was the Southern Flame board — tender picaña, rich Argentinian steak, and smoky blood sausage paired with fried yuca, bright chimichurri, and fiery llajua sauce. With every bite complemented by one of their expertly crafted micro brews, this brasserie proves that its blend of rustic soul and culinary artistry makes it a must-visit destination in town."
