Reviews Summary

The Ice Cream Store is renowned for its vast array of over 100 unique and creative homemade ice cream flavors, with many reviewers praising the friendly staff and delicious taste, especially for adventurous combinations. While the quality and variety are lauded, some patrons find the prices to be excessively high for the portion sizes offered. It remains a popular boardwalk destination, with a significant draw for its unique offerings, including vegan and gluten-free options.

"Great amount of vegan options! The coffee Royale was so creamy and smooth! They also had some gluten free options."

"We've been coming to this store for ice cream just about every summer for over 25 years. They have both homemade and regular flavors. The homemade flavors are very tasty and have fun names like Chocolate I Don't Give a Fork and Crack. They also offer free sprinkles that are next to the building and you can put them on yourself after you get the ice cream which is nice. However, last night we ordered 2 size small homemade flavors and one regular small cone and paid $25. The cost is $7.59 for a regular and $8.59 for the homemade. Not only is that cost enormous but the size in comparison was EXTREMELY small. I wish I had taken a picture. While it tasted delicious and this has been our go to place forever, they have now outpriced themselves and it's not worth it. There are other places around the area that have great ice cream for reasonable prices. I get that prices have gone up, but you can't give me next to nothing and charge top dollar. If you want to charge that much, then you need to give a large scoop."

"I visited once off-season and the owner was incredibly kind and friendly, so I had wanted to visit again this summer, but had since become vegan. I was going to accept my vegan-unfriendly fate, when I noticed they had a whole section of diet-sensitive flavors, including a vegan version of my all-time favorite flavor! It tasted awesome and had a super creamy texture; if I hadn't known it was vegan, I would've been none the wiser. Attached pic is a small (which I found to be pretty big for one person, I would've gladly split it) that ran me $8.59, which I would say is reasonable for the quality and quantity of vegan ice cream I got. 10/10, would shop here again (and might actually come back tomorrow, lol)"

The Food And Drink You Can't Miss At Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Every beach town has its own classic and unique ice cream shop, and since The Royal Treat closed for good in 2023, the best place to hit up in Rehoboth Beach is now the one with an oddly generic name — The Ice Cream Store. Opened in 1970, it's evolved over the years, thinking big and outside of the ice cream tub to offer up outrageous flavor combinations with monikers to match. Owner Chip Hearn told The Daily Times, "We're not stuck with a basic flavor concept," and he really meant it.

Kid Friendly Attractions in Rehoboth Beach Delaware

There are a couple of hotels that line Rehoboth Beach’s boardwalk, like the Atlantic Sands and the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, but one of the best-kept secrets is the family-friendly Avenue Inn & Spa, tucked along one of the side streets downtown just one block from the beach and boardwalk. This hotel helps you unwind after playing all day with a complimentary wine and cheese hour from 5-6 p.m. and fresh baked cookies every night at 8 p.m.

First on the list we have a flavor made just for the first president from the first state!. That’s a lot of firsts but is it more than the 100 plus flavors at the Ice Cream Store on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach?. This special spot recently added a new flavor to their long list named “Biden’s Summer White House Cherry.” Perfectly Presidential, and oh so delicious.

On the boardwalk, kids go nuts for The Ice Cream Store, which offers over 100 homemade flavors with zany names like “NETFLIX & Chill” (vanilla ice cream dyed red, with Kit Kats and M&Ms) and “Chocolate I Don’t Give a Fork.” But the better pick is The Royal Treat, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor where the service is as warm as the hot fudge.
