Reviews Summary

Dos Locos offers a unique stone-grilling experience and is praised for its lively atmosphere, especially on Saturday nights with DJ music. However, some diners have experienced slow service, and several reviews indicate issues with food quality and consistency, with some finding the dishes overpriced for the value. Despite some criticisms, the margaritas and attentive service from specific staff members like Ken are highlighted as positives.

"a little slow paced today, I came to dine in on a Friday, it was roughly 6pm.
when i tell you i had the best experience of my life, i enjoyed every bite of my chicken tacos literally + made me feel relived through another day, loved my server the most because she was SUPER attentive !"

Bentley Benjamin Cartier

"Went in here for the first time over the past weekend. The Bartender Ken was a pleasure to interact with. He was attentive to our orders and a great conversationalist. He made the visit truly a pleasure. Was jovial and pleasant with myself and group I went with.
The nachos locos hit so good and the margaritas refreshingly delicious.
What really made it an enjoyable experience was Ken. He was running around covering more than one spot in the restaurant. If you visit be sure to tip your bartender handsomely!!!"

Lorraine DeGraw

"They served raw beef in my meal.
Queso is just canned cheese whiz in a bowl for $12.
Only saving grace was they had a super sweet waitress there, but they quickly moved her and traded us multiple times to different wait staff.
How is this place in business 🥲"

Miranda Myers

EATING WELL IN REHOBOTH AND BEYOND

(Maki aficionados should read the descriptions of the sushi rolls carefully. At the Pearl, the Philly roll combines crab stick -- i.e., surimi -- shrimp and cream cheese while the combination often called "Philly" in Washington, smoked salmon and cream cheese, is here called a Washington roll. The Ocean City roll combines cooked tuna and cream cheese, a not-so-subtle poke at that more traditional grilled-seafood town; while the Rehoboth roll is a rainbow coalition of yellowtail, tuna, salmon, avocado, flying fish roe and crab. Veggie special alert: the Delaware roll, with avocado, asparagus, cucumber and squash.) (19-A Wilmington Ave., Rehoboth, 302/227-8493.) DOS LOCOS -- This wild and woolly cantina (named as a sort of business-sense joke by the "crazy" women who own it) on Baltimore Avenue has smartly broadened its Mexican menu way beyond the usual enchiladas -- not merely farther south to the authentic dishes of Veracruz and Guadalajara but on to a sort of global freedom: portabellos marinated in red chili vinaigrette then grilled and topped with cilantro-honey mustard; grilled rare tuna with cumin glaze; and a sort of Indonesian rice with chipotle peppers, peanuts and shrimp. (42 1/2 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth, 302/227-5626.) VICTORIA'S -- The fusion trend is so pervasive, though, that even some of the more traditional restaurants have thrown themselves into the fray (and in some cases, nearly overboard). Victoria's, the revamped bistro facing the boardwalk from the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehoboth offers the classics -- steak and crab cake, crab-stuffed shrimp, prime rib, rack of lamb -- but also a grilled breast of duck with ginger and hoisin sauce, raspberries and mangoes; a classic fusion pan-seared tuna with chili oil and wasabi cream; bouillabaisse (which reminds us to warn you that the spelling on resort menus is highly problematical); and a mongrelized but intriguing plate of tournedos garnished with crawfish and served in a puddle of ancho chili/amber beer glaze.

Dos Locos http://www.doslocos.com is a great standby for Mexican food and cocktails. The ornately furnished, Asian-inspired Planet X http://www.planetxcafe.com scores high marks for its creative cocktails and unusual vegetarian and organic fare, from tofu sate with ginger-peanut sauce to grilled ahi fillet with asparagus, scallion herb salad and lemon aioli. Dogfish Head Brewing & Eats http://www.dogfish.com is one of the most esteemed craft breweries in the country – it's a fun place to sample a flight of unusual beers (Chicory Stout, Positive Contact Wit-style beer, Chateau Jiahu – which is brewed with rice from an ancient Chinese recipe), and the kitchen serves tasty modern pub fare, too.

Darryl and Joe Ciarlante-Zuber, former owners of Dos Locos (208 Rehoboth Ave.), bought and renovated the business that had been operating as the Double L, which had fallen on hard times — it didn’t even open until halfway through the season last year. While no longer an explicitly leather/fetish venue, the brighter, tropical-minded Diego’s nevertheless will continue the fetish-oriented party Gear It UP Fridays, as well as Philadelphia-based DJ Steve Durkin’s popular Saturday event ManDance — billed as “the biggest gay dance party in Rehoboth.” (That is, obviously excepting for Sundance, the annual Labor Day fundraiser.)
